If you feel that it should work, then you could try filing a bug report

However, is it not possible that you will need to remake your download mananger to suit the new forum software.

The download manager has already been rewritten to suit the new store, and as such it works fine. The error report however indicates that the server doesn’t respond properly to a standard protocol request, and it happens at random. If it was my code that was bad it should happen with every file.
Still, I can’t rule out that the code needs some tweaking to make it work, so I am looking into that as well.
