Ah. So, just to be clear: if we buy him now but are running 4.0.3.47, we should hold off on installing the new Nigel to keep from messing up old Nigel until we’re running 4.5? (I like old Nigel too much to mess him up, meself.)
you can install the 4.0 version now, the 4.5 version will overwite the morphs; though you may need want to remove or rename the directory in People->Genesis->Characters->Male_M3dia so that you don’t get confused with the presets. Or you can just set the uninstall flag so that it will remove nigel when you’re ready to upgrade.
Also if you have the Genesis/M4 version, the morphs and textures in this product are in separate directories, so you won’t lose the original morphs or textures.
Ah, OK, I missed that you had both 4.0 and 4.5 installers the first time you said it.
That said, it looks like I don’t have a good version of the 4.0 installers, which, given the weirdness with ordering (not your fault, the store went all wonky in the middle and then double ordered for me) doesn’t surprise me. It’s missing everything but the Color and Bump texture directories; Displacement, Specular, Transmap and SSS are completely missing from my installation.
How big is Nigel supposed to be? I have two installers for PC; part 1 is 231.144 KB and part 2 is 198,663 KB.
EDIT: Reset, redownloaded, uninstalled, reinstalled. Still no sign of those texture directories. Tried installing the 4.5 version to a temp directory to see if the directories were there—textures are textures, right—but Studio won’t let me install Genesis-dependent files to directories without Genesis in them, and I don’t have the right version for it to let me install anyway.
EDIT 2: Was actually able to install the 4.5 version. No joy there either; the same textures are still missing. Something went weird at DAZ with the installers, I think. Is there perhaps supposed to be a third installer file with the rest of the textures for both versions?
Makes me really really really wish for zip files, this does.
