The only format that seems universal and works fairly well for 3D interchange is OBJ for static geometry.

If you still have access to 3dsmax and whatever program wrote the files almost all 3d programs can export an OBJ.

not sure what formats Studio supports or how to import them, i’m sure someone else here does…

as for creating figures and props for use in studio you will need some sort of modeling program like hexagon, zbrush, blender etc

I asked about cloth making in the below thread link… SickleYield a clothing vendor was very helpful in explaining this to me… Check it out.

On the matter of importing 3ds Max files… It’s best to export either as OBJ. or FBX. Then Import in Daz. smile

You would need import plugins to be able to use those formats in DS, and we don’t have any for those formats, you would also need to have atleast 3dsmax 8 installed on your system as well as a max plugin for DS to be able to use the max file.

Hexagon will open 3DS files, and Bryce will open 3DS and LWO.  Both are still free at the moment, and they both have a Bridge to DAZ Studio.  It may be a way around it for you.
