Well I got inspired again.  AprilYSH’s Lyon hair is getting the Wolffie treatment.  Worked for hours on figuring out how to get the scalp properly textured in Photoshop.  Ended up taking one of my many photo references I bought a while back and took basically the back of the hair off from the crown up and began the long arduous process of extracting bits and pieces to make something that’s good.. not great but good.  I wouldn’t say use the skull cap as a short hair texture but I’m kinda happy with the results.  ALL of the scalp textures are done to go with each and every color I’m making.  Like many texture artists I have my defined set of colors that I’ve made already and am using the UV’s to make it all work and so far.. pretty happy with the results.

Hi,

This is a new set for AprilYSH’s Lyon Hair.  This is only for the hair, the ruff and hat can easily be taken care of using shaders so I thought it best to just concentrate on the hair.  This is by far my best most comprehensive set so far.  Every time I thought I was through I found myself opening back up Photoshop and tweaking and even rebuilding old favorite colors I came up with years ago from scratch.  In nature there are NEVER flat colors in hair, there are multitudes of colors if you look at them.  I’m not saying I got it as good as nature but most of the colors you will find in this pack are multicolored and often time the tips are lighter than the roots which is also a natural occurrence and the nature of hair. 

You will find 24 new shades here.  That’s it.  Covers most natural and fantasy needs.  I see no reason to offer 100’s of options.  It’s overkill.  If you want to apply variations of colors from my pack load up one option, select one of the strand surfaces (hair 1 & hair 2) and copy that, then load up another option and select just one of the strand surfaces and ‘paste’ it.  You can create your own variations and save those out as new presets. 

Now the legal stuff…..

You are authorized to use these presets for use with AprylYSH’s Lyon hair set (link below) in renders, free and commercial.  You are NOT permitted to sell any part of the presets or the textures in a pack or give them away.  If someone wants this pack they can come to the freepozitory and download them.  These are fully original and have full proof of creation via PSD files (about a gigabyte between two PSD files).  So please be respectful and don’t do wrong by me by taking advantage by doing something unlawful.  THANKS!

Start to slowly reveal the upcoming Freebie morph pack for Genesis I’ve done.  You remember the female shapes from the first post that started this thread…. now here are 3 more teasers.  Folks have been wanting aging morphs.  There are two morphs I designed playing around in ZBrush.  Combined they create a nice aged looking person.  They work on both male and female morphs.  Here you see them applied to Bruno. 

1st pic is AgeDetails 01 at 100%
2nd pic is Age Details 02 at 100%
3rd pic is Age Details 1 & 2 combined at 100%
4th pic shows the dials dialed up to 100% and shows the list of folders you will have at your disposal… SOON! 

3 Light presets I use to light my scenes with.  Again, keep in mind, I like things to pop.  The Fantasy set is quite intense.  By turning off Distance Light 1 you get a much nicer effect.  Have fun.

Take your time and do it right…that way you don’t spend more time ‘fixing’ things, later.

Reagan?  EYEEEEEEEEEEW!  lol Oh, I will.  Slowly getting there.  Still need to make the maps bigger but still getting Photoshop CS6 tweaked and running solid before I attempt it.
