I made the break from comfort and downloaded Carrara Pro 8.5.

There is NOT a POWER PC MAC Version available is there!!!!!

I downloaded

Carrara_8.5.0.172_Mac32_i386

And it said the installer will only work with INTEL based machines!

IS there a POWER PC VERSION?

No, I don’t think so.
I just downloaded Carrara_8.5.0.172 Beta a few days ago and I checked now again.
There’s no 32-Bit PPC, only one for Intel aka i386 as you told.
