In the DAZ Studio 4 Change log
http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/change_log#release_candidate_3
I found the following entry:
Update 3Delight render engine to 10.0.50; see 3Delight Change Log notes between 9.0.123 and 10.0.50 for more details.
I followed that link to this document:
http://www.3delight.com/en/modules/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=3delight_changelog
The one entry I found most interesting was:
“10.0.17 - 2011-11-30
3Delight
Added ability to specify polygonal bokeh shapes (aperture control) (#3363).”
Quick side note:
Bokeh is one of the favorite tools of photographers. The most expensive lenses give the most amazing bokeh. Some people prefer round bokeh others also like hexagons or other shapes for artistic reasons.
To put it simple the bokeh is the shape of the “blur” in the background. The shape of the aperture panels is specially noticable when a light source is in the background.
I would find it amazing to customize the bokeh in DS4.5. But where is that ability “hidden”? Can it be achieved with the shader mixer or shader builder? Or is it one of those things that could only be achieved with the scripted 3Delight?
Has anyone any clue where to find the ability to specify polygonal bokeh shapes in DS4.5?
