I am interested in doing lip sync, some day.
I spent some time looking. But there seems to be a lot of confusion and error about the different types of Mimic.
I can’t promise everything is accurate.
I’ve edited this dozens of times, as I learn a new thing and find out another thing was wrong.
I do not konow Mimic (plug in with 4.5RC) has same function with “Lip Sync” in ds4 (32bit).
It seems that “Lipsync” is a piece of Mimic software, from the same company.
About the same as Mimic Lite, as far as I can tell.
This store shows less information than it used to. I hope they fix that.
Do you find Mimic Live in Help->About Installed Plugins ?
If you do, is there a green symbol, like the others have? Or is it white?
If it’s white, you would buy it in the store, to get a serial number to activate it.
An earlier version of that ““Mimic Live” installer also came with 64-bit of the first Beta of Studio 4, about a year ago.
I haven’t found any mention of that.
I don’t know if Lipsync is in the 64-bit RC 4.5.
If it is, you’ll find it in Studio this way: Windows->Tabs->lipsync.
Please tell me what you find out.
You can install both 32-bit and 64-bit Daz together, as long as they are the same version.
But two versions together is a problem.
Lipsync is part of Studio 4, so it will be updated in the 32-bit of RC 4.5.
I got the 64-bit and 32-bit in my download from Daz. Is that where you got yours?
If you didn’t get the 32-bit, you can reset Studio in “Itemized Order History. But the way that is set up now, it’ll take a long time to find it.
(I predict that they will fix that, someday).
Though I do not need real-time Live lip-sync function.
It seems that “Lipsync” does not do the “live” that the store version of “Mimic Live” does.
And, the Mimic Live, in the store does not take wav files.
So IF “mimic lite” has lip-sync function, I want to buy this.
(because It cost only 1.99:red:)
But I do not know the compatibility .
If Other vender plug in can not be used in ds 4.5 now, Mimic-lite can not be used.
I think someone said that Mimic Lite will overwrite Lipsync’s files. I don’t know if it’s better.
I expect it will be 32-bit, only.
That says it is a “standalone”, so it won’t depend on the Studio version.
But 32-bit might not work well with 64-bit Studio, I don’t know.
It looks like it does the same things as Lipsync.
Mimic Pro hasn’t been updated in a long time.
Pro isn’t a Studio plugin. It is a “standalone” so it can run by itself.
So it should work in any version. But it might not work well with 64-bit Studio).
Everyone says that Lipsync is 32-bit, and missing from Studio 64-bit, even recently.
Someone said the store’s “Mimic Lite” will overwrite Lipsync…
This thread talks about the different kinds of Mimic.
There was a whole Daz forum for Mimic, at the old site.
This \docu\ exists. Not much in it, though.
This is how it works on my 32-bit
Ignore the “Launch Mimic Pro” button, unless you buy and install Mimic Pro.
(Sounds like Pro is not a plugin, so it doesn’t care what version of Studio that you have).
It has sample files which you can load. Then you analyze. Open the timeline. Hit play.
You can add your own files, in WAV format. After you hit “analyze”, then find the text file that Mimic creates.
That text can be corrected, if Mimic/Lipsync mistakes one word for another.
By the way:
Animate2 does work with Studio 64-bit.
I think the plugin might be included (but needs a serial #)
If you see it in your plugins, then it’s updated for RC 4.5.
(You’d buy at the store to get the serial number for the plugin).
I’m positive it will be updated for the final 4.5, if it needs it.
I will try to do more research.
Like I said, the store pages used to show more information.
I will have to stop for today. I used too much time on researching Mimic..
