I just stumbled upon Dax Studio.  I’m working my way through online tutorials, but haven’t found anything yet on exporting animations as video files.  Can Dax do this?  I plan on exporting characters and alpha channels and import the video into After Effects.

under Render - choose video ( name file )

It’s possible to export an AVI movie with alpha channel in the background?

Render as Frames in png format, use your favorite video program to assemble still frames into a video file.
