Hi,
I have a noob question: On different screens I see rendered images with hires textures which look great, but when I try to use poser or daz studio to create something similar, it looks terrible. For example, this is Jessi figure, rendered in poser - terrible, isn’t it? Link removed
And now look, for example at this: http://www.manihoni.net/products/img/Suzu_Promo_Sub01.jpg - absolutely different matter. High res textures? I’ve downloaded some high res staff for some model (Victoria 4, or some other) and guess what - when I add new model to the scene it is the same low poligonal, teriibly textured thing as it was before.
So, please tell me - are higs res textures included in daz sdutio/poser distributable, or they must be purchased separately? And, generally , how one could use them?

We’ve had to remove your image as the forum TOS does not allow nudity (at all, currently, and even when we get the ability to filter posts genital nudity will not be allowed).

Having done so, I did look at the image and your biggest issue is your lighting - and probably your render settings too. The default Poser lighting has little to recommend it, and the default DAZ Studio “lighting” is just a torch strapped to the camera. There are various free light sets around -try downloading and studying a few of those and see if they help.

... edit ...

No, you can not redistribute high OR low res textures from either program.

Yes you can purchase skin textures separately from Daz3d.com and other places.

There are some legally free texture sets here and there; like over at sharecg.com and in the free section at Renderosity.

Generally speaking ... one can use only legally obtained textures and models to create a scene ... the scene is rendered out to an image file like a .jpg or .png. Said artwork can then be redistributed for free or for sale as one pleases according to the conditions set out by the providers of all the content in one’s artwork. Not all freeware can be used for commercial work for eg.

Here are a few in the Gallery: http://www.daz3d.com/i/galleries/

If you want to create character skin sets yourself, there are several “merchant resources” available for purchase with which to work from. Again read the conditions of use. For eg. not all may be used for creating free skins or character sets.

Edit: here is one of the several available skin texture sets uploaded at sharecg.com
