Heres a cool muscle car movie, lots of girls too!

http://www.viewster.com/movie/1073-10732-000/american-muscle

Does anyone remember the 1970s movie “Two Lane Blacktop?”

It had a nice 55 chevy in it, and stared James Taylor the singer! Even came out with a model kit for it.

grin

Also how about “Vantage Point” with the 1970 Dodge Challenger going across country with a time limit, outrunning all those cops, only to end up crashing head on into two huge bulldozers at about 120 m.p.h. All that was left of the car was the trunk and back seat !!!!!!!

I still can’t forget that look on his face just before he plowed full throttle into those dozers. That smile he gave was saying ” You guys never did get me!”

oh…correction here….from Denver to San Francisco in 15 hours! Also what many do not know is that the actual car they used to plow into those two dozers was a 1967 Camaro…not the challenger used throug the movie…look at the pic here of the remains of the car and see for yourself! Cool huh?

Another one was Opee Taylor, Ron Howard, in “Eat My Dust”...lol. He drove a redish orangey Camaro in this one with an “8 ball” painted on the hood. So he was “behind the 8 ball” driving it. This Camaro has gone down on record as one of the coolest movie cars ever used. When I played bass for “Tom Wopat” (Luke Duke) from the TV series “Dukes of Hazzard”, he reveiled to me that the Duke series was a spinoff of this movie, only they chose to use an orange Dodge charger instead and put the rebel flag on top of the car istead of on a hat, or on the hood.

But one of the greatest all time cool car movies was “American Graffeti”, which also had Ron Howard in it. Just before the release of the “Happy Days” series. The yellow chopped and channeled 32 Ford roadster, and the black 55 chevy street machine, driven by a young Harrison Ford, both belong to a guy named Milner. Two fine examples of American car magic! Too many very cool cars in this movie to list.

Ford Hot Rod, again imported into Bryce from Poser, all materials changed to Bryce ones.

That looks fantastic!

Here is a quick render of a project we are currently working on. This car is fully modeled and rendered in Carrara 8 Pro, no extensions or third party products used. We intend to put this model up for sale when we have installed the interior.

We would really like to get some feedback on our work.

(The last render in this post shows a model we did a little while ago. While it actually began as a casual exercise in vertex modeling, we have now turned it into a rat rod. It is a good example of what one can do in Carrara.)

Let us know what you think of our work so far.

Nice cars, I especially like the ratrod.

If you take a good close look at that pic of the car that was ran into the dozers, the rear clip is at the wrong angle for it to actually be a Camaro, they always will use the same car, not necessarily the car being driven throughout the movie, but the same make and model, they always have cars in reserve, they probably used a couple dozen 70 Dodge Challengers for that movie, its nothing for a movie studio to buy a bunch of the same car just a wreck a few, even in television, the Dukes of Hazard had several dozen General Lee’s, they had to, or they would not have been able to keep up the production schedule.

That was a great movie period!  And the first appearance of that Nanny and the Professor girl, that I know of.

Well, here’s another render of our current project, the Fergani Cavelloni. Today we have been struggling with the doors, which still aren’t completely to our liking. The techniques we use to model these vehicles are explained in a tutorial made by Ormusei, who is also supervising this project.

Find it here:
http://www.qfpost.com/download.do?get=7bd7c50ae9c8ef2e4bfb0dd761f62449

Are there any other (Carrara) car modelers out there? If so, we would very much like to get in touch.
