I just tried placing an order and I’m still seeing the CA sales tax being added.

Oh well, so much for that theory.  Anyone in NY?

Well only Daz freebies and dollar deals for me until this CA sales tax nonsense stops.

I’m in NY and it looks like I’m not being charged sales tax now (I went all the way through the process and stopped at the last step, “Place Order”). If you can confirm that sales tax I’ve already paid will be refunded to me, then I can probably be persuaded to make an actual purchase in order to give this a proper test.

Yes, I placed an order last night, and sales tax was not charged on the order (although it was charged on earlier orders).

So it looks as if you may have resolved the issue, at least for New Yorkers. Thanks.

why is the store now charging tax ?
i thought digital items are excempt ?!?

i’ve read through most of the posts ... but it seems there is no official answer

what i’ve read is people finding california law stating that downloadable items are except from tax collection
so why does the store collect a tax ?!?

an official answer would be nice
or a fix to the store

An answer will be forthcoming as soon as we get one. THis is why we are keeeping all these posts together, so we know where you all are to let you know what is happening.

My monthly Platinum club renewal was just charge and there was sales tax applied. I live in California.

OK… just read through this thread and see that digital downloads in CA are exempt from tax…. I think my last purchase I paid tax on and the one that kept messing up on me with my PC membership, I emptied my cart and refuse to buy anything else until all this is resolved.  Sorry DAZ, we all loose out here but I guess it will get resolved in time! (rolls eyes)

Hopefully sooner rather than later. I have money burning a hole in my pocket waiting to buy my stuff.

Me too. I checked again and am still seeing CA sales tax. I have not bought anything since the $1 items because I don’t want to have to run around submitting extra tickets to the already overtaxed (lol) support staff to refund my tax for every purchase. I’m hoping I can start shopping again soon!

If some people from CA and NY could try ordering, I believe you will no longer be charged sales tax.  I’ll see if I can find out how they’re planning to handle refunds.
