...well by this time tomorrow, it’s bye bye bad connectivity.  Finally made it to Comcast today to set up internet service 46$ (including a dual wireless/hard wired modem (this way i can use my notebook anywhere in the flat). the whole thing took less than 15 min and a tech is coming tomorrow morning to reactivate the line/exterior box.  then all I need to do is hook things up (have all the instructions) and then call in to activate the wireless function.

This will save me a bundle in having to go to the hotspot as well as endless frustration and aggravation.  now i’;ll actually be able to view those you tube links.

Excellent! Rock hard, ride free, surf fast! (cool grin)

...haven’t purchased it yet so don’t know.  That would be a non-sell point if it doesn’t as the lid is supposed to open.

Don’t necessarily need the keys rigged, though it would be nice.  However, understandably it would be a real chore (and thus make it more expensive) as it would also have to articulate at least the dampers whereas on Ness’ harpsichord, the jacks are hidden under the jack rail.

I guess I could take it into Blender to rig the keyboard but only if the keyboard has individual meshes for each key and is not just one block.  I’d have to see the actual wireframe.

Though in comparison, a fairly expensive Grand Piano model I have been eying over on Turbosquid also does not have any rigging although the keys, pedals, and dampers on it are all individual meshes.  The stringing is also 100% accurate.

That’s amazing, and disturbing, that they charge so much for something that isn’t even rigged.

Dana

...well just received a reply to my thread about the piano and unfortunately there is nothing under the lid.

Looks like it’s back to waiting again.

Sounds like me.. looks OK, but there’s nothing under my lid! (cry cry cry)

Home and cooking! Already did a lemon-pepper burger for breakfast, and a chili-onion one for lunch.  Dinner tonight is a beef, onion, salsa and egg scramble!  Smells heavenly here!

Meh time: I have content money, things in my wishlist, but.. meh.. not going to buy anything not on sale until I need it. (blank face)  Any leftover content money will to go towards the new i7 laptop I want!

All Modelo Dark, Tito’s Vodka (made right here in Texas) and heavy metal!  Life couldn’t get better unless I won the lotto! (cool big grin)

...getting kind of “crunchy” for me as I really need an accurate model that includes the plate and strings, for my story illustrations. Really can’t justify 125$ on my almost non-existent income for an untextured .obj (which is the only format of the one at TS that I can use in Daz).  I looked at a .pz3 conversion of it and there are issues with backfacing polys that were definitely visible enough to be bothersome.

It would take me years to get my own modelling skill up to the level to build an accurate accurate mesh with the proper detail.

Hoping the salsa is milder than the hot wings you’ve had later or tummy trouble and (cry cry cry) in your future. (worried emote)
Sounds good, though (yum emote).

Bubble cake.

...OK now you got me wanting to do a Xin Xin Bubble Bazooka pic.

In the meantime here is a little something I whipped up yesterday with Xin XIn and a slightly bashed version of Jack’s Nouveau Vignette. Replaced the original door, window and interior walls of the set with segments of the Folding Screens prop scaled to fit and retextured the interior ceiling with one of Marieah’s freebie Wood Shaders

Also Used:

Krei Geisha textures for A3
A3 MFD with the Kimono Expansion retextured with Silkessence
Cherry Blossom Hair for V4
Iron Fan (Silk fan) retextured with Silkessence
Entry Guardians (pedestals) and Yukimi
Mil Cat
Urban Environment Shaders (used on walkway and pedestals)
Cloud9

Teriffic KK, kitbash is real nice as well :o)

...thank you all for the comments on the Xin Xin pic.  Yeah she may have been around for a while, but still works so well. Have to go find the “AIko3 love fest” thread to post her there.

88 (thinks) keys to rig on a grand piano but in practice you would only rig keys that are in frame and moving, has got to be much less. Dozen?

Do you need that with rigged keys as well? ... was looking at the diagrams of hammer action on one of the grand piano sites - could be an interesting learning experience in rigging (for me)... (`.`)...

... on the other hand, if you don’t need to see the dampers rising and hammers hitting strings, but just have the keys so they “depress”, that would be a lot quicker to construct <(`.`).

This is medium salsa, and it’s more medium-low - a nip, not a real bite, should be no side effects.  Tons of flavor, though - tomatoes, cilantro, and lime! (grin)

I made too much.. yaay leftovers! (dance emote)
