Well, I considered deleting this thread entirely, but I thought I’d just note that I worked it out with the help of this:

Basically, I was looking in the wrong place. The new interface for DS|4 threw me for a loop!

I’ll leave this here, though, in case someone else wanders in and has the same question.

I’ve set them up in Preferences, but they don’t show up in the “Files” or “Products”. I’ve tried to “apply” the choices, etc., but nothing happens, no scan, nothing.

I’ve heard that I can supposedly import the prefs from DS|3 but I can’t work out how to do that, either.

This is very frustrating. I’d really like to move into DS|4, but at the moment, I can’t….

do a scan of the harddrives - worked for me

I just set mine up in the “Content Directory Manager” while I had the external attached its also best to make sure you have a permanent letter attached to the drive.
