So I am trying to make it look as if there is a hole in M4 so I can see inside of him. I am using Gimp to edit my texture. But as you can see I have this large white area instead of a hole how to I fix this?

You want a transparency map, black for the hole and white everywhere else, applied to the Opacity Strength.
