Hokay! ...... *whew!*
Though, really, it turned out to be not quite as difficult as I first thought it would be. Once I’d sorted things out by some purely objective criteria, and then compiled my main choices into a document with smaller thumbnails, it was…
... not quite… as difficult… anyway.
And with “sorted by objective criteria” I don’t mean that there was anything at all wrong. As others have noted, for example, there are certain themes which have been extensively explored over the years. And though one image may be technically flawless, I echo the sentiments of being in favor of another which shows some additional spark of originality… a story, a joke, an expression, a unique twist on that familiar theme…
... or one which simply appeals to my own particular set of personal biases.
Having said that, here are my eight… or-so… choices… top-to-bottom, if you so wish, but really in no particular order. And though this particular thread may not be the place for it… one of the often heard complaints, here, is a desire for more critique. And so, even though I may not know Art ( ... but I do know Ron… he worked on my car last week. *bada-dum kish!* ) I will try to offer with each a small bit of mild exposition in defense of my choice:
( Warning! Opinion Alert! Don’t read the following if your mind is not made up, and you still intend to vote! )

Visions of a static position in space changing within the field of time have always been one of my favorites, ever since George Pal’s “Time Machine”.

Woohah! Takes me back to “Dungeon Siege II”. This is how those aggravating Morden bottom-feeders should have looked! “Grrahhh!... Hungry!... Rrrrrrrr…...SPLAT!”

Stonemason’s environments captured and shelved, Argo-City style perhaps, in snow-globes and display-cases! Clever!

An urban-decay style slice-of-life, with maybe a bit of cause-and-effect?

Ha! A Voodoo Doll’s Revenge? Nice one!

An interesting twist on the NVIATWAS theme! Only here the only “Weapon-Of-Mass-Destruction” is a Valentine… and the only sharp-and-deadly objects would seem to be hiding behind her eyes.

One word…... fracking.
Storypilot [ # 141 -2 ] http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewreply/299596/
I might have included Storypilot’s first image here… but it seemed centered on two more of those all-too-familiar themes: “Androids-on-the-Run”, and “Corridors”. But the android’s expression was a saving grace ( there were two others that I wish I could include here for the same reason )... and I liked the second one anyway ( ... I always knew that Buddha guy was probably up to no good!... ).
Finally, thanks to Stefan for an enlightening experience!
