Played around with the TreadZ last night, and I have to say that at first blush, I love them. smile

Not entirely used to the "hide feet" option instead of foot/heel poses, but I'll get used to it.

Had a couple of questions, though.

Were the various heel/sole morphs tested with crouching/sitting/kneeling poses? I didn't have time last night to crank out any example renders, and I promise I'll do so when I get home, but just as an example:

I put the TreadZ onto the Genesis figure (basic female), set them to the high wedge heel, with the flattest sole possible, and then applied a "Basic Female" sitting pose from the standard Genesis poses. At this point, the heels of the TreadZ took on a life of their own and... I guess the best word is "Folded" into the sole.

I had no such observations on any standing pose. Only with crouching/sitting/kneeling, and one of the Aiko poses. I forget the number, but it's a typical "laying prone, legs bent at the knee, feet in the air" cutesy type pose.

Is this one of those cases where I should apply the pose to the figure first, then the morphs to the shoes?

I will get pictures later when I'm not at work. smile

Okiedoke, here we go.

First image is one of the Genesis Female Seated 01. Second image is Aiko 5 Pose 8. In both of these, the TreadZ are set to:

Flat Sole 2.1%
Tall Flat Wedge 100%

As you can see, soles go wonky. I don't see this issue in standing poses. Is it me? smile

I need a day when I'm not working a billion hours so I can make a decent "Holy Cow, These Are Awesome" render properly as a way of saying thanks for these. smile

I've found they can be quite picky on the order in which you apply styles, heel morphs etc but I haven't had them do strange things on posing.

Chrono,

Have to remember that with the high heel morphs the feet are more or less pre-posed while the foot is still at zero deg bend. So when you apply some presets you are in effect bending the foot farther back that it can realisticly go in a high heel shoe. It would probably be different if the TreadZ were modeled to be high heels from the start and then comformed to a flat foot Genesis shape. Then you would have to bend to the foot into a high heel shape. However since these were modeled to be flat by default it seemed best to do it this way.

If you select the foot in the scene tab and bend it back about close to 0 deg it will look more natural. This is also the case with the toes, in the high heels it should be close to zero and not intended to bend much. Think about a foot in those wedge saddles I see women wearing (not sure how LoL). Not much bend of the toe there as there is a lot of solid material in that sole. BTW I used the Virago Poses for V5 for testing the high heel morphs as there are flat footed versions.

Hope this helps!

willowfan,

Yep do to the nature of some morps some will not play well together whil others look best at 100%. Nice render BTW!!! Thanks for posting.

Cheers!

I'm sure it will! And you know, after you spelled that out for me, it was painfully obvious, and I feel like a dope for not thinking of it. But it never hurts to ask, right?

My attack plan is now:

Step One: Apply TreadZ
Step Two: ????
Step Three: RENDER!

No, that's not it.

Step One: Apply TreadZ
Step Two: Apply Pose
Step Three: PUT FEET BACK TO NORMAL
Step Four: Hide Feet
Step Five: RENDER!

And then we'll see how it looks.

I should have a ton of time tonight while decompressing to Hotel Transylvania. I hope to have something cool for you to see when I'm done. smile

Wow, you got my favorites and in order too! Actually already started a Mech Girl conversion to A4. Put it aside to finish up some new stuff. Probably get back to it at some point. Was looking at the Stargbrigade package the other day and thinking that suit would make for a good conversion.

Check out my facebook page for the latest jumpsuit I am finishing up.

Cheers!

They match my requests as well; they're all of a high enough quality that they convert pretty nicely as is, but it would be great to have proper Genesis versions (merging the V3/M3 versions of Project-Z, and proper male morphs for Star Brigade as well).

Like the Treadz, they'd be instant buys for me.

I love the TreadZ series. When I saw them for Genesis, there was no doubt I had to pick them up!

Chrono,

Thanks for the plug and thanks for the product suggestions! Cool render, though boots may be made for walking but I don't see how anyone can walk in wedges. LOL

I have it on the authority of my lady friends that they can be easier than heels if they're properly constructed. Something about a more stable platform. wink

And you're more than welcome for the plug, sir. I always give credit where it's due. smile
