this is just messing around with the new Base SS shader in DAZ 4.6

How did you get one with the SS shader and how did you set it up?

There is a new base SSS shader that comes with DAZ 4.6 might be a separate download/install in DIM,

the figure is a combination of M5 and Mr. Hyde.. the Mr. Hyde mats are used for the initial setup,
I then changed the shader (keeping the textures) to the new subsurface base shader for all skin surfaces (excludeing finger and toe nails, eyes and stuff inside the mouth.

there are several presets for SSS material type, I set it to skin A then tweaked it from there..

a PDF manual comes with the shader

Oh, right, I’ve got that and I read the manual. I set mine to skin too. I didn’t really have much to compare it to. Male M3dia will probably do a character that uses it so I’ll steal their presets.

it does require some tweaking and a lot of test renders.
