Hello out there!

Does anybody know where the Latex Shaders (http://184.72.52.194/doku.php/public/read_me/index/13274/start#product_information) have gone?

Thanks in advance,

Eddy

There is some Carrara latex action in this set:

Just listed, not previewed.

The PA for the shaders in the first link above does not sell the shaders anymore.
The DeviantArt page shows a new name and the journal has entries about severe depression issues.

What a bummer! Hope everything works out.

If it’s the same CoolArtDude, they’ve posted here in the past couple weeks.

Holyforest isn’t the CoolArtDude, is it? I didn’t think so. But I thought CoolArtDude had shaders at the store and I wasn’t finding his name amongst the vendors. Do you know?

Eddy, did you try those shaders? I wasn’t sure what sort of latex you meant. Latex shiny stuff, latex gloves… but for shiny latex stuff, some of the plastic shaders that come with Carrara could be slightly altered to get a great look.

Latex seems pretty easy… It needs a low value in the reflection channel, but you will probably need a reflection map in your background. If you search your runtime you’ll probably find something called reflect.jpg or reflectmap.jpg They are so common you might have several.

Carrara doesn’t have a global reflection shader *hint hint plugin makers!* so if you don’t already have an hdr in the background, add the reflection map as the background.

Hello and thank you for all your replies.

I tried some glossy shaders from Digital Painter
and a HDRI background map delivered with Reality.
So i produced this one. (seems to be a bit cold there wink )

Daz decided to remove me as a vendor without even telling me, I have the 2nd and 3rd set I did but due to a hard drive issue I lost the first set, was thinking of uploading them to sharecg or something, but work is taking all my time atm

I doubt I will upload the 3rd set as It never sold well and I cant say I liked it myself, was more a mess about, you can change the colours easily enough, and play about with SSS, although that never seems to do anything other than slow the render down LOL

tempted to say it looked better before LOL

they were my first attempt at making shaders and trying to give back something, as well as learn something, you can always adjust the highlight and shininess to suit, I always found IBL or HDRI to work best smile

Thank you CoolArtDude for the free release, news post here: http://carraracafe.com/?p=2647

I like the second image, looks more like new clean latex for a photoshoot, the first one is more like old dusty latex…
