The Music Video Thread II

Use this thread if you feel like pointing out a music video.  The previous thread was great and was good to have around when the forum got quiet.  We also got to hear stuff we might never otherwise have bothered listening to.  Just as with visual art, the audible art (music) is every bit as diverse.  Go ahead and post any music videos you like (keeping within the DAZ TOS).

Here’s a Bowie, weird and creepy:

Looking at the way it divides up, the idea might have been that someone writes the first part, then passes it onto the next person for them to add their part, and so on.  Perhaps it’s the result of some weird songwriting practice.

Just found out what it’s about; some art-crime murder set in a dystopian type environment.

According to the reviews, the album is based on a diary:

You are aware that Bowie is English, right?

I suddenly feel like watching Clockwork Orange again.

These videos also remind me of Saladfingers.

Well, that SaladFingers character seems a bit dodgy, but Clockwork Orange rocks!
And of course I know David Bowie is English, I was just messing around.

Anyway, last one from the same album:

Looks like the Vinyl is missing some tracks so I won’t be bothering with that, might get the CD though.

One that is missing from the Vinyl:

You’re a boring lot lately, I suppose it’s my turn again grin

This is something that really ought to have been added to the first thread, but I forgot about it.
It’s a truly fantastic fusion or music, high-speed shooting, live action, screen effects, and CG.

I think it’s a work of art and a lot of work went into it, click here to enjoy:

” The Ballad of Sam Stone” ... John Prine captures superbly well the human affect caused by the aftermath of conflict.
For me Prine’s lyrics tell’s the full story of the modern soldiers lot and, If it ain’t drugs, its drink, if it ain’t drink its mental health problems, if it ain’t any of those .........then, its the nightmares!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sl9ZkYViEIs&feature=related

There’s a hole in daddy’s arm where all the money goes
Jesus Christ died for nothing, I suppose
Little pitchers have big ears, don’t stop to count the years
Sweet songs never last too long on broken radios

Sam Stone came home to his wife and family
After serving in the conflict overseas
And the time he had served had shattered all his nerves
And left a little shrapnel in his knee
But morphine eased the pain, and the grass grew round his brain
And gave him all the confidence he lacked
With a Purple Heart, and a monkey on his back

Sam Stone’s welcome home didn’t last too long
He went to work when he’d spent his last dime
So Sam took to stealing when he got that empty feeling
For a hundred-dollar habit, without overtime
But the gold flowed through his veins like a thousand railroad trains
And eased his mind in the hours that he chose
While his kids ran round wearing other people’s clothes

Sam Stone was alone when he popped his last balloon
Climbing walls while sitting in a chair
And he played his last request while the room just smelled like death
With an overdose hovering in the air
You see, life had lost its fun, there was nothing to be done
But trade his house he’d borrowed on the G.I. bill
For a flag-draped casket on the local heroes’ hill

@kylumi
I read the lyrics before I listened.  I think the story worked better being sung than being read.
Reminds me of Johnny Cash (known to me through my uncle), will point it out to him.

@Ascania
Thanks for the edit, here’s the same type of music (high energy) except it’s catchier and done better (it’s the Serebro girls from my previous post).

Something for you to watch in that truck cabin of yours tonight:
