hi im new to all this 3d stuff

i have installed dazstudio4.5.pro and the Genesis Starter Essentials they installed fine but then i installed Aiko3BaseMetaData_1.1_ds i cant find it in the smart contents tap

You need to install the full package, not just the Metadata.

is it best to just install both files or just the full package

You want both files. The MetaData is just information telling Daz where to find the files and which figures to associate those morphs, materials or models with. The actual ‘meat’ of the package will be the trx or DSON files.
