It really doesn’t feel like Christmas at Daz this year. I remember when I first joined Daz it was November so I had missed the October sales and then December came and the generosity of the vendors and artists was almost overwhelming. Even at 40 something I felt like a kid as I checked each day for the new trinkets and baubles and wonderful artistry
I know the vendors and other artists do not have to give away things and when they do it’s out of the goodness of their heart and the love of what they do. But I must say that each day I come to Daz and faithfully check the thread to see if we might have some wonderful gift waiting only to be disappointed and a little saddened. I love making art and I love using everything I get.
Currently I donate a most of the art I do for various things to raise money for the things I believe in. Last year, my art raised about $300 at the annual Yule auction which helped not only support my organization (which survives on donations to pay our rent and supplies) but in extension the local foodbank, women’s shelter, street youth because 10% of what we raise goes straight to other charities. Even though I purchase most of what I use…having wonderful freebies also helps
Love and light to all this wonderful season
