How can I get a darker and closer spaced grid for use in setting up my poses for animation?

The preview grid in DAZ Studio isn't adjustable, but you could apply a grid texture to a plane primitive through the surfaces pane and use that instead if you needed to - Create>New Primitive, set the size to the area you want, leave divisions at 1 (though I suppose if you are working in wireframe you could set it to the number of grid divisions you want instead of using a texture); Tool>Surface Selection tool, click on the plane; Window>Panes(Tabs)>Surfaces, click the little square next to diffuse colour, choose Browse... and select a grid image you have created with enough lines to give the spacing you want.
