my smile is sideways cuz my jaw was fractured as an infant and it healed that way.  went to a specialist when i was 12, they said they’d have to re-crack my jaw to reset it.  i opted out of the procedure.  smile  crooked smile has character, yes?

Yes. I have nerve damage I think, or my face is skew lol..When I smile my one side is always higher than the other. Funny enough, people always compliment me that I have a nice smile..Just like the rock and the peoples eyebrow. Sometimes asymmetrical is better:)

My crooked smile is because I had the back teeth removed on one side. I was out of work and broke - the dentist offered a cheap removal rather than an expensive crown and root canal. I’m not too bothered as it doesn’t show.

This got me thinking, maybe I should make some asymetrical morphs. Just enough so that the face doesn’t look like a mirrored half..Going to do some tests and see what the results will be like. If I take my one half of my face and flip it to the other side it doesn’t look like me lol. Going to dig deeper into the science of this. Maybe there is a formula that I can turn into a workable morph. If there is a chance it will remove some of the uncanny valley effects on 3d models I’m all for it.

I’ve been very pleased that expressions ported in from GenX do come in as dials.

I did manage to find the expression morphs for Genesis, which I never found for M4 and was stuck with having to use packaged expressions, which never were dials. And I do find dials much more flexible. Of course sometimes the dials come in weird. Like one set which I never can use more than about 70% because while the rest of the face is usable, the eye morphs always come in too strongly.

Screenshots of the work window, not renders. The one with the corner of the perspective box showing is 70% of the grin morph from Arcebus’s Alyson (no longer available). The other is the 100% morph of the Alice happy smile. Both are usable, I think. I didn’t try to combine them, but I possibly could (another nice thing about dials).

it’s tricky to make her smile reach her eyes.

I agree that the hardest part of the smile is actually the eyes but one specific problem I’ve noticed is that a number of smile morphs start out way past the corners of the mouth.  It makes them seem very unrealistic if the mouth is open in any capacity.  In the end, all morphs/poses should be seen as starting points rather than the end.

On another hand, I absolutely hate it when vendors leave the figure’s face on the default vacant soulless stare.  Which seems obnoxiously common sometimes.
