does anyone know what I’m talking about?  Pretty sure it was using Hexagon, though I could be mistaken… I lost the link, and I need to find it.

There was one that showed smoothing shoes which you might be thinking of but I can’t remember atm which/where it is. This one by Bobbie25 might help.
