Basic Glass Settings?

Didn't somebody post basic glass settings for the DAZ Studio Default Shader a while back? It was something like Lighting Model on Glossy Plastic, Multiply Specular Through Opacity set to Off, Opacity on 0%, Index of Refraction on 1.5, Reflection Strength maybe around 20%, and some numbers for Specular Strength and Glossiness (those last three are what I'm having the most trouble with, btw). Anybody know where I can find it, or can post those numbers again?

I've never had respectable results using settings on the 'Default'...

That said, what you have is a good start and I can't find the specular/glossiness settings, other than playing around with them.

Don't forget, you need an 'environment' for things to look best, otherwise you'll be reflecting/refracting 'null space' and you'll end up with odd black sections of your glass object.

Yeah, I've got a sky-mapped sphere around it for testing, and there'll be a diner around it in the render. I thought it was DZFire who posted this earlier, but I can't find it. And I'm still fumbling around with the specular settings -- anybody?

For decent glass, quick, use Fisty's Christmas freebie from last year...

That helped, thanks! But I was getting this weird gray bar imbedded in the cube until I remembered to up my Ray-Trace depth to 2. :red:

4 is actually a better setting...you've got the 'front' side and the 'back side' of the object, to get it 'right'...
