I just finished my latest render today and while the lighing looks good in the render window when I save it the JPG comes out much darker. Is this how things normally work or are there some render setting I could adjust to make things come out better?

The ViewPort (preview) is just an OpenGL view for setting up a Render. Only doing a Spot Render or a Full render shows what the 3Delight rendered image will look like. The Preview is not a 100% render. I suggest doing Spot renders to see what your Lighting will really look like as you set up the scene for a full render.

If the ViewPort looks different than the final render then Jaderail gave the solution.

But if the final render image in DAZ looks different than the same image in another application, you have a problem with your Windows color profile. If you have changed colors/contrast/brightness of your desktop in Windows, some applications follow these settings and some ignore them. So, if you need to adjust these settings, do it on your monitor only, but never in Windows. So your images will look the same in all applications.

I think that might be it,in windows photo viewer it looks darker then it should be but when viewed in photoscape it looks fine, Guess I have some adjusting to do. Thanks for the help.

No problem, I jumped into the same trap some time ago

The best you can do is to delete your current color profile in Windows, load the default monitor profile, and make adjustments on your monitor only.

If you can not do the adjustments you need on your monitor, then you need a better one. Sad but true.

I find Irfanview http://www.irfanview.com/ the best software for viewing images for this very reason. I have GIMP and Photoshop Elements which are perfect for manipulation and postwork but they do take a while to load up where as Infranview is quick and easy. Also you can go back and forth between images which good for looking at differences between images.

Thanks for the link,I now have infanview set up as my default viewer for image files. also here is the render in question,if you can hardly see the pillar she’s standing in front of or read the sign on it then that’s what I was talking about when I said it was to dark.

Nope I can see it just fine on my monitor.

OK good it’s showing up clearly in my screen as well,guess it was just the windows viewer.

Oh definitely the Windows Image Viewer as I get the same on my monitor hence me suggesting Irfanview.

After reading all the comments I cant really tell if the issue has been resolved lol. But I can say for sure that the subject and the post behind her are too dark, especially in contrast to the bright background areas to the right. Check that your gamma render setting is the default 1.00, if you accidentally moved that it could really dim down or brighten your scenes.
