saving clothes

I have DAZ version I created a clothing item for Genesis, and saved it through the transfer utility, etc.

Some of my friends still have version 4.0, and are reluctant to upgrade at the moment because they are in the middle of projects. Is there some way that I can save my clothing so that it will work in 4.0. If I use the Deprecated menu, what version of DAZ will that save for? And, if I use the Deprecated menu, what files need to be packaged up to share with someone? (like my original files AND the deprecated ones?)

No, I'm afraid not. DS 4.5 doesn't support .daz files at all, and the changes to the DSON format are not backward compatible (though they should be in future, 4.5+ should open files saved from later versions of DS).

Then what is the deprecated menu for?

You can save presets from there, for materials and poses and so on, just not assets, such as new props and figures.

I see. Thanks for the explanation.
