Almost every content you install is creating Support files - in the Support folder within the Runtime folder.

I never cared about them, but now I want to know what they are good for. Are they doing something or can I safely delete them?

Those files are the metadata for the Smart Content system DAZ are using in DS4, and yes it’s safe to delete them if you don’t use the CMS and Smart Content tab.

Ah, ok, I understand. I do not use metadata and the CMS, so I can delete them.
