Hi all,

What is the name of light in Carrara which are named “Area Light” in lightwave?

I believe you have a couple of choices. You can use a Shape Light (select a rectangle as the shape), or you can add a plane (or other object) and an Anything Glows light which you then set up to use the plane as the object that glows.

not a real equivalent, but I use often infinite lights, with softs shadows setted on 1000 meters, and it’s more or less trhe same style of lighting… very soft…

Hi celmar, I think the light you are referring to is the Distant Light. I don’t think it’s soft in itself- Not unless you use soft shadows.
