The secret to doing a commercial project and getting it accepted is first of all to make a name for yourself, release some freebies and then people can see what you are doing. People like to know who a vendor is and what sort of thing they do before they part with their money.
Second thing is to find something that no one else is doing, that is nearly as difficult.
