With November 11th (Armistice Day) just three weeks off, this is an excellent time to post this model.  It is suitable for both D|S and Poser, with separate scene files. There are no moving parts.  Although as supplied there is only one wreath at the base, the wreath is a separate prop so that you may add as many as you wish.

The perennial problem with democracies is that of choosing leaders.  It’s like picking teachers of sex education in schools - those who would be good at it don’t want to do it, while those who are keen would best be behind iron bars.

Very topical, and as you say, just in time for remembrance day.  Wonder if anyone has ever made a Poppy wreath.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Thank you, Skipper.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow / Between the crosses row on row.
Thank you, Skipper.

There’s a (single) poppy with TheSchell’s Sherman Tank at

Edited (22 Oct) to correct the poetry.  In full:
In Flanders Fields
Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

God still reigns.

As a cultural historian, Dawson understood that the core of a culture is found once we locate the thing that the culture would never relinquish, or even imagine itself relinquishing. I submit that in our case it is not individual liberty, or sex, and certainly not religion. It is not even the machine. Rather, it is the machine insofar as it promises an activity superior to the human act. ~ RUSSELL HITTINGER

You are all very welcome.  It is just my small recognition of the enormous debt that I owe.

The archive seems to be lacking geometry, my friend.

Sorry about that.  I have been trying to edit the upload but am having considerable trouble making ShareCG accept an edit.  Try again later today.

BTW, did you see this horrible report?  http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/defence/9624298/Royal-British-Legion-minders-for-young-poppy-sellers.html

LATER…..
In the end I had to delete the first upload and post another.  Get it here -

Oh, dear…

In a time when we remember those who have died to preserve our freedoms, it’s a shame that some would choose to exercise their freedom of expression that way. On the other hand, my hat’s off to the Riders.

I don’t think that one can dignify such behaviour by calling it “freedom of expression.”  It’s just brainless yobbishness.
