I'm just going to kitbash it.

But I am going to try and get something like this.

    http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130309120425/marvel_dc/images/thumb/3/33/Aquaman_Injustice_001.png/366px-Aquaman_Injustice_001.png

    Thanks for the link.

OK that's a complete re-imagining of the character. Is he Aqualad as an adult?

That's Arthur. The designs from Injustice are pretty interesting, as is the story. I think the comic tie-in for the video game is actually still going as well. It's essentially an Elseworlds/Crisis event.

Well I started kit bashing the costume. All I pretty much need is the belt and maybe a different shirt.

does anyone have a link to the belt?

Anyway, here's one of the characters that I've been playing around with today seeing as I was off from work for the holiday.

The suit is pretty awful right now and it needs a lot of work (textures are wonky and I need to make the dark part darker), but preliminary is heading in the right direction... I think.

Work in progress on one of my favorite superheroes.

...OK, a bit of silly fun with Sadie as Jubilee from back in the Wolverine title days.

Costume is created from the Immortal Ronin shirt, Mall Girl shorts, Mean Streets coat, and Genesis Boots, all retextured. Glasses are the old A3 Moda Fashion ones, and hair is Wild Mane for M5.

Guys I need a trident for an aquaman!

I am doing a Jason Momoa Aquaman render and that's the final piece.

equinoxx put one up at ShareCG last year (I remembered it from a former incarnation of this thread). It's a more modern version (New 52 maybe?) than I recall but maybe that's what you need.

Actually, I'm not sure when that design first appeared, but it dates back to at least 1993 (cover of Aquaman: Time and Tide #1). Though, the reference I used was the Alex Ross Aquaman poster from his "life-size" JLA series.

As far as Arthur's belt, I think pretty much the go-to for most folks was the Muskateer Graphics version, but he's been inactive for ages, and his site went offline sometime last year or so.

That's Invincible, right? (I'm not read-up on Image characters, but I've seen the character a few times.) I'd say you're definitely headed in the right direction.

Thanks, and yes it is supposed to be Invincible without the mask (at least for the time being until I create one :) )...

That render was just a preliminary attempt playing around with bodysuit displacements and normal maps. The texture's not fully completed yet (still no specular) but it's coming along.

My end goal is to have a versatile bodysuit I can just repaint over and over again for various costumes.

Edit: Oh and great renders everyone. I'm really loving that Joker ^_^

After his actions in the Injustice comics I'm really kind of anti-Sinestro at the moment, but great render nonetheless :)

I've been working on a Marvel Now style Captain America from Hickman's current Avengers run. It's been more of a pain than it's had any business being. I started off working from obsolete concept art (http://geekmodeonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/capt_mn_2.jpg) and not realizing it. Then I was all like, well I can just delete the shoulder pads and fill in the mesh with zbrush, then I was like, man that topology is ugly. When I started over again I realized that while I was getting the arm design right, some of the panels on the torso also changed between designs (http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/8/82819/2493383-cap_3_edit_561.jpeg). I tried to fudge it and make it work, but I think I'll probably start over one last time.

By the time I get it right, I think Falcon is slated over to take over as Captain America.

I'm sure you will make it look great by the time it's done. I love your Zata... er Ms Magic outfit. :-) Not to mention a lot of the other stuff you have done, both pay and freebies. Plus, Captain America is awesome. :-)

Hm, I like the obsolete concept better... but just barely. Both of them look like good. (I still prefer my all-time favorite Steve Rogers outfit used in the movie http://i.imgur.com/M0lRmZa.png... which I might eventually one day attempt)

But yeah, you're on the right track.

The unfinished suit you came up with already looks great. Is that for M4 or Genesis?

    G2M

If I get it finished and up on ShareCG I'll likely include both tops as it wouldn't take much to finish the shoulder pads version.

I like that movie design and the design from the first film as well, (the one with the straps, not the show one or the Avengers one).

I've thought about buying a coat made from the design you posted. But I don't think it'd be as flattering on me as on Captain America: http://www.fjackets.com/buy/Captain-America-Jacket.html

Everybody's guessing it'll be Falcon in Cap's suit. I'm guessing it'll be Patriot from the Young Avengers.

Oh, nice work on the Cap suit BTW. ;)
