Wow, this might be a must have... http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/sav-marina/97409#

I just bought this with Rendo's 25% coupon for purchases of $25 and over. I have several Marilyn morphs but this looks to be possibly the most accurate one yet. You'll note that Studio Art Vartanian, the designer, used Lady Gaia Hair with the character and is providing a freebie morph for that hair as an add-on. I think for "early" Marilyn you'd use AprilYSH's Portia hair (one of my favorites, BTW) and Lady Gaia for the later 1950's; the hair in the promos looks a lot like her The Prince and the Showgirl 'do.

Speaking of old-time actresses, what other morphs are there aside from Marilyn? I know of Elizabeth Taylor, Raquel Welch, Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot being available, and I believe someone mentioned Lauren Bacall in this thread just a little while ago. Several morphs for Sophia Loren have been mentioned but the one on page 1 is no longer available at Daz, unfortunately. There are several 1940's and 1950's actresses I'd love to have morphs for:

    - Gina Lollobrigida (my favorite)
    - Jane Russell (she'd go great with one of my Marilyns)
    - Rita Hayworth
    - Ava Gardner
    - Kim Novak
    - Joan Fontaine
    - Ann-Margret
    - Anita Ekberg
    - Rita Hayworth
    - Lana Turner

There are a lot of other names (I'm big on classic movies :) ) but those will do for now. One thing I'm considering is trying to make my own morphs based on the above; I've seen references on the net to a procedure for using The GIMP (freeware similar to Photoshop) and freeware character textures to make character morphs from photographs. If anyone has tried that, I'd like to hear what sort of results they've gotten.

Finally, I'm buying "My Hollywood Crush" as it's on sale this weekend but aside from Marilyn I'm not sure who the actresses featured are.

I'll be transferring the Marilyn and BB to Genesis when I get a spare hour (mind you, coulda been doing that instead of reading the forum, so it's more a question on getting down to it)

Yeah, the texture is the make-or-break, you can shape a character pretty close but if the texture is wrong, it'll still not look like them.

I tried a Gina Lollobrigida for Genesis http://www.sharecg.com/v/56347/gallery/21/DAZ-Studio/Gina-for-Genesis
The shape is ok (would really need to custom sculpt to get more accurate rather than just the evolution morph packs), but without a decent texture, doesn't look much like her at all.

Gotta agree about the golden-age celebs... the current crop seem to have something lacking about them.

I keep meaning to do a few more characters, although they would be for Genesis, not V4), but always seem to keep running out of time - maybe I should disconnect internet for a day and see what I get done, hehehe.

Hey, that's really not bad at all! Can I beg and sweet-talk you into doing a V4 version, pretty please? :) (I work pretty much exclusively with Vicky 4 so far.) With the bangs hairstyle - which is pretty much the same as the one Gina wore in the early 1960's ("Strange Bedfellows" with Rock Hudson) - this char really does bear a resemblance to La Lollo. What kind of texture would you suggest? I think something with a slight olive-tan touch to the skin...

I just had another thought, or rather question, about hair sets and Marilyn morphs.

As I already suggested, AprilYSH's Portia hair works for early-50's renders and RPublishing's Lady Gaia hair is good for late-50's renders. However, is there a hair set that would work to replicate the style Marilyn wore in the last few years of her life (from Some Like It Hot onwards)? Another of April's hairs such as Marisandra or Harlow, perhaps? I think Portia is just a bit too wavy to get the proper early-'60's vibe. (I looked at Nerd3D's Jackie outfit here, http://www.daz3d.com/nerd3d-jackie-outfit, and the promo model seems to be coiffed in either Marisandra or Harlow.)

I think I'd give my left arm (cos my right does all my favourite things) to get my hands on a Helen Slater Genesis morph from her Supergirl days. The movie might have been terrible, but her pretty face just about made it bearable to watch.

Cheers, but unfortunately, I don't have enough spare time at the moment for doing V4 characters as any spare time I do have would be spent on new characters I would personally use, which means Genesis I'm afraid.

Texture... a new one is in sneak peek at Renderosity, Marisol - http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/3da-marisol/97184

It might be a wee bit too dark, but it'll be better than a "standard white" skin. I'm running a render now to see what it looks like.

In that case, I suppose I'll have to look at rolling my own. I saw something on the web about how to create character morphs using photographs, freeware textures and freeware apps such as The GIMP...yes, here's the link:

    http://www.ehow.com/how_5759184_create-3d-characters-photos-freeware.html

How well do you think that might work? I have a LOT of good portrait images of classic actresses (not just Gina!) to experiment with.

    Beyonce anyone!?:

It's a close call. I went with J'Lo but I think I will change it to Beyonce. I saw more of the hair style on Beyonce than on J'Lo on my second look.

Yup, she's not one of those 100% morphed models. Which is good in a way.

Just like Sabrina Blinker is a good 12-year-old Chloe Grace Moretz look alike, but not 100%. Even the modeler *jamminwolfie agreed with me:

Hmm, no, but she's sure a cutie pie, isn't she? Guess she's the little girl that stared as the "kick ass" girl? lol, Couldn't believe they created such a movie, and cussing/killing & kids just don't mix, certainly not in my book anyways :/

Sabrina does look a bit like her though, don't she? Did an image google search and thought the two can be sisters lol. I actually modeled Sabrina on a girl I knew named Sabrina (though not the exact look). Thanks a lot, friend

Don't know of any for M3, but Uzilite's freebie Super Hero outfit for M4 includes a Chris Reeve-inspired morph. And of course, WERTS had a fantastic one for M4, but like all his stuff (except the handful converted by Marieah), it's no longer available.

I agree that the Tempesta3d Edmund has a nicer set of textures though I think the Henrika sculpt is closer to the actor.
