Is the "ridge" on the girl's sides and the boy's front and back, by any chance?

yes now that you said about it.....I have that also! I didn't even notice it until you brought it up because they were already dressed when I loaded them in. Wonder what caused that?

After cloer look at how they are put together....I know it is the scaling sliders that are causeing those issues. I had the same problem in my girl as I am making her I decided not to use the scaling dials(originally I did). The issue with my girls head when I used Head Propagating....her neck was distorted from the head in poser but not in Daz

Yep, it is! Ridges on the sides and back. Very odd.

If that's from Poser, then it looks like a scaling bug on the torso length and arm length...

I think it is poser. It's not a problem I came across in Daz.

Chest width on the girl, chest depth on the boy. Looks like Poser doesn't deal with body part scaling very well. That picture also shows issues at the wrists (from Hand Propagating Scale) and ankles (from Foot Propagating scale), and I'd bet there's something at the top of the neck if you look at it from just the wrong angle (Head Propagating Scale). I have no idea what's going on with the upper arms.

well my fix was exporting the obj from daz and zeroing the whole figure except the scale and importing as a morph and ....etc....etc....etc. that how the right figure got into poser with out the problem..... so its definatly scaleing of separate body parts (scaling for the whole figure works ok though....

but exporting as the obj before hand made it exactly the same as the original so......

Yeah, it's Poser. It's fixable with the morph brush but I haven't been able to get Poser to cooperate for getting a Genesis morph out and back in again (via CR2 transfer to a pz2 or using software like an injection builder). I'll try fiddling with it more to see if I can get to something of a fix morph. Realistically, if Poser had smoothing like DAZ Studio, it would probably be taken care of automatically.

Just thought I'd point out that it was May 25th when Thorne mentioned that his teens were coming "soon." That means that next Sunday it'll have been 6 months since we saw the first images, and in that time we've seen a half dozen commercial and freeware variants created and released from scratch.

Daz, what in the ****'y blank **** are you waiting for? You just sent me ANOTHER 30% off coupon and if you put these out for Thanksgiving, I WILL buy them. Otherwise, there's a lot of nice stuff at Rendo as they roll into their big Thanksgiving sales.

Here's some hopeful speculation for you. In a thread somewhere MallenLane said that Hiro5 is what came from his male version of Hitomi. It blossomed into a full blown DAZ release with bundles of all shapes and sizes. Maybe, just maybe, that's what's happeneing to Thorne's teens. Maybe PAs are beavering away at teen specific content and we'll get bundles. Might explain why they are holding off so soon after the Hiro 5 release.

    I can dream can't I?

I do know many years ago talking to her that she had a hand in the original millenium kids/teens design. I was studying was to morph between them with in poser at the time....she was way ahead of me in her knowledge

My thoughts on the matter are...there's never going to be an 'official' younger than 18 package. Ever...

    Unless the gens go bye-bye.

...well, I for one am tired of waiting and will continue pushing the morphs the best I can for my needs. I did it with V4, guess I'll just have to do it with GenX & Genesis.

It's just like DreamLight releasing all these new products & training programmes while neglecting to update the one item that is their claim to fame.

Unfortunately I do not have the time to create my own LD system.

I suspect that DAZ probably has figured out when they intend to release them, but that it took them a while. I have images of them debating round and round as to whether they should release them *before* an official Kid5 package or after. And if they decided after, then we're up a rather smelly creek. Because I've not seen anything to indicate an official K5 package in the wings.

But the fact is that the teens are not the kids. It's either two packages, one or the other, or neither. And since the teens exist, they will make an appearance eventually. But it's been a long tiresome wait. Thorne mentioned having finished them some time in early June or July, so DAZ has been sitting on them for some time. I only hope they aren't holding off for something like March Madness. Although I do remember that they do tend to release things in April. I think K4 came out in April 2010.

I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but unless they have some way of locking out the gens, I don't think we will ever see 'official' K5 or Young Teen/PreTeen packages...

And yes, those that would do such will find a way, anyway...but the liability of it being 'official' is just too great, in my opinion.

It didn't stop them from having the Basic Child morph. They'll probably just update the gens to have the same interaction with K5/Teens/etc. Not that that would even slow down anyone who wants to misuse them, of course.

...what would stop Throrne & co. from offering them though their own site?

    Daz bought them.

Plus, mjc1016 has a point. They probably wibbled all over the place on how they could make it as difficult as possible for anyone to use the genital figures on them.

If that's why it's been a 6 month+ wait, It feels like a sad excuse. They know how to prevent that sort of functionality... They did it with basic child, all they have to do is update the gens. --------- Personally, I really hope the excessive wait was because they are making a bundle out of it ie LL5. For me, that would certainly validate such a long wait. If it isn't, then it feels like daz has just been prolonging the release of an excellent product that would have conquered the age group long ago - in which case this thread would be a render thread, not a quest to do it ourselves since daz was reluctant on it's release.

Ok, I realize USA is a different beast when it comes to lawsuits and moral panic, but how would Daz be responsible for what images users create with their tech?

Oh well if everyone wants to continue thinking that nudity equals pornography and that certain bodyparts are "bad" until you reach a certain age, that´s fine, just release Justin and Julie already, cause I can´t wait.

I have had a go at morphing to produce a particular age but am not sure that I have been successful.

Please, how old does the attached guy look?

@Westland44 - 15 or 16? :) But it's hard to know from appearances alone... We all grow at different rates, genetics and individuality play a big part in growth. When I was still at school Ive been friends with many that were 15 and looked like they were ten.... and 15 and looked like they were 20. I think you've done a great job with him, I like him :)

I've also found that texture choice can also greatly affect the perceived age of a 3d character too, as with hair as well.
