The ‘artist’(?!) formerly known as 3dcheapskate - I decided to change my username here at DAZ to match my website name. Not sure if that was a good idea - I’m missing the old name already!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
An electronics engineer by qualification (many, many years ago!), but a software monkey by a quirk of fate which led to 20 odd years experience, sitting in front of a keyboard 9-5 and more tapping keys.
Took a ‘carreer break’ 10 years ago to go travelling in S.E.Asia - turn out to be a life-changer, for the better.
Discovered the world of 3D software in an internet cafe in Thailand. Well, rediscovered really since the first program I wrote was when I was at school in the mid 70’s, on a state-of-art BBC micro, to do a 3D line drawing of a fighter jet that I could rotate with the U,D,L,R keys. I’d also come across Bryce 2.0 in the latter half of the 90’s - loved it, but didn’t go anywhere with it)
So with time on my hands, very limited funds, and a renewed interest I started playing with the imaginary 3D world again, scouring the net to see just how far I could get with as little money as possible. Eventually picked up a copy of Poser 6 for $39, and joined the DAZ PC for a couple of years (under another username).
I’m definitely just a hobbyist, a tinkerer.
