Hi,

I used to have the viewport which stretched from top to bottom. Now it is "stretched" horizontally, with dimensions 955:441. Wider than "widescreen".

How can I change this ? ..... couldn't find this anywhere.

thanks,
Andrew

There must be another step after that. I'm looking at a blank viewport, and it has that darned aspect ratio border on it.

Which changes according to your render settings.

If you have the aspect ratio border showing, you can turn it off by going to the drop down menu at the upper right corner of the viewport (icon with 4 horizontal lines next to camera view button). Uncheck Show Aspect Ratio.

If you don't have the aspect ratio border, and if the viewport is docked, the area showing is what's left after any of the panes around it are sized.

I've attached a screen capture of my setup showing the menu opened.
