Can anybody point me at a good tutorial on how to create bodysuit textures for A4/V4 or beyond?

I would love to know how to do this from scratch...assume I know nothing! :)

I think they want to make textures for the v4 bodysuit: http://www.daz3d.com/shop/victoria-4-2-bodysuit

I do, as well. It looks like the only texture files are MAT pose files... and I have no idea how to work with those. I'd also like to learn how to make textures for the suit from scratch.

Hey, lmoroney! I found a seam guide online for the bodysuit. I haven't tried it out, yet, but here you go: http://www.snowsultan.com/seams/v4bodysuit.gif

OK, that is a possibility, but I asked for confirmation, because we have had people ask about bodysuit textures and they mean second skins.

It would be a little silly to link to a tutroial on texturing using a UV map for a clothing item, if theat was not what they wanted. Was why I asked for clarification as to what exactly they wanted.

OH and BTW I thoroughly recommend any of SNowSultan's seam guides, they are really good, and I use them all the time, In fact in my basic texturing tutorial I recommend that novices start with an item of clothing which has a SnowSultan seam guide, to get the feel of texturing.

DvusD -- Thanks for posting the seam guide -- but how do I use that? Is there a tool that allows me to apply a texture to that, and then add highlights?

chohole -- I guess I mean both -- I'd like to 'clothe' A3, and the only way I've been able to do so so far is with the catsuit/bodyskin, which I would like to texture...but if I could do it with a second skin, that would be great too...

You can paint a texture on that in any paint program, Photoshop, GIMP, etc. Then, go to surfaces and select the bodysuit and click the texture button just to the left of the Diffuse Color selection, then you can browse and choose the texture file you created.

Edit: Oh, and if you want to just paint a new skin, there is a seam guide available at the site I linked to where you can paint a new skin for your model (depending which model, I guess) and you apply it the same way.

I did this tutorial using the MFD (which has versions for most Daz3D female figures). I used SnowSultan's seam guide for the MFD to do this.

You can however adapt the tecniques to all sorts of clothing items. You just need the template (UV Map) for the clothing item you are using.and a paint program that supports layers.

Thanks Chohole for the tutorial and the links. I'm going to try to paint something on the a3 bodyseam from Sultan and see what happens :)

? work in layers. [Gimp, PSP, Photoshop, etc]
Paint on a clear layer then hide the others and save out a .png or .jpeg for your new texture image.

The eraser tool will erase stuff on selected layers.
