I just saw that you pulled Reby Sky for Genesis out of the vaults, "to Celebrate the NY Giant's Super Bowl win":

So I had a look on the athletics list of the US team for the Olympic Games in London, and found that you have one Stephanie Brown Trafton in the team for Women's Discus Throw!

She finished... well... OK... she ended up 8th in the competition. I guess this won't justify to pull out Stephanie 4 for Genesis out of the vaults, right? I thought that... but I just had to try...
How about the Olympic ideals? "To be part of", etc. etc.? At least she was in the final rounds, there's a cut for the top 8 of 12 after 3 attempts:

Is that nothing? Is it really only Medals that matter in these cruel and cold times? And - hey! - Stephanie Brown Trafton did win the GOLD MEDAL in Beijing 2008 for your team! According to this website "she became the first US athlete to win discus gold since Lillian Copeland in 1932"
I think this historic event wasn't celebrated back then as it should have been, and it is a great time now to provide a tribute to this great American Athlete!
So please go and re-sell Stephanie 4 for Genesis, for a limited time, in honour of one of the best Women's Discus Throwers of all times! :-)

I'd buy it. I am thinking of getting the Gen4 version, and converting her with GenX, but that isn't an option for everyone.

Daz, how could you turn this one down?! I just got S4 to work with GenX yesterday...but I still wish you would release her for Genesis, I'll still buy her. I think it's cruel to keep her in that vault all to yourselves.
Kidding aside, S4 is a must have figure. She brings shaping options that no other figure does....I don't know how I ever rendered before she came along. And not to take away from Reby, but S4 is a whole lot more useful - yet Reby gets un-vaulted on a regular basis....what gives?!
I agree. Why the keep Steph 4 shape in the gloomy dank vault is just not right. I know there is talk of a Steph 5 for Genesis and I hope a David 5 to join her but Steph 4 is an iconic shape so what gives?

I was about to say myself, the leaked news about Stephanie 5 would be a great reason to unvault Stephanie 4 in itself.
I was actually fortunate enough to buy the V4/M4 Shapes for Genesis on release so I actually am one of the numbers who does have the S4 Iconic Shape. But even I think everyone should have a chance to have her. See, now what I would have done with S4 and RS was, make them expensive as they were in their original release so people would get them free with the V4/M4 and Gen 4 Iconic Characters respectively, but instead of vaulting them, I would have just expired the coupon and made them normal price after the sales end date. Some people may like Stephanie but not so much Victoria, just as how I've always preferred David and Hiro to Michael.
And speaking of David, yes a D5 would be VERY MUCH appreciated! Even to this day I still shake my head that MallenLane actually felt that M4 didn't need the shaping support that V4 got with S4 Elite. I swear the second S5 comes out I'm going to petition thread the crap out of the DAZ team for him.
You start the petition and I'll sign it! David 5 all the way DAZ, don't let your customer base down!
I've been waiting for S4 for Genesis basically since I started...I was hoping that she might show up again during this sale, too. At this point I expect it to be re-released just before S5 comes out (the way a bunch of M4 stuff went on sale just before M5 was released). Of course, if S5 is really coming, I may just buy that instead!
I'll add my voice to those disappointed by the early price hike for yesterday's new items...maybe the sale is behaving as intended, but if so it wasn't explained well. (Edit: oops, wrong thread for that second comment, but there it is, anyway)
...been using Steph4 almost exclusively since she was released. Nicer more"believable" proportions and with the NPMs I can easily turn her into a "Teen4" and even "PreTeen4". Sad that David4 never was released (along with similar morph kits) as it would have allowed for the creation of a teen/preteen male character.
Have to wait on Steph5/David5 until I have a system capable of handling Studio4P. With richer textures and use of Indirect lighting so common these days, 32 bit just doesn't cut it anymore.
Yeah, I honestly think that's what DAZ was aiming for with S4 Elite in the first place, to kill the birds of petiteness and teenness with one stone.
I've been thinking, it's definitely most highly unlikely at this point, but since DAZ still seems to acknowledge active support for Gen 4, proof being the V4 & M4 Pro Suites, and especially considering the Poser-preferred audience, perhaps there may still be some chance for a D4.
Then again, I know this is also just me being very wishful-minded with much assistance from my OCD demanding completion... :lol:
...I agree. with Steph4 Daz got right. She is truly amazing, which is why I am not all that thrilled by Genesis. Steph4 is the only "elite" character I have in My runtime. I rarely use the base V4 unless I want a taller or more buxom character.
My Leela as she pictured herself being the "Flutterby Queen" when she was a young girl. With Vicky alone this would almost have been impossible to achieve without a lot of time and work and a few custom morphs.
Uhm... eh... well... while we are merrily talking about iconic shapes (that were available for a weekend and then gone with the wind) there is another item that exists and that I would really really want to buy, but sadly can't - although for a different reason.
I madly love Radiant Jaguar Hair. I know it is pretty old and there are lots of newer wigs with more polygons, and more textures, and higher resolutions, and tons of extra morphs and whatever else, but I must confess that RJH simply looks better under Poser than anything else that I ever bought for my Runtime. It is the closest to absolute photo-realism that I manage to get out of my gear - take V4, some high-res skin on her, RJH on her head, render settings to maximum, and the result can hardly be distinguished from a real photo.
So far, so good. Now I started to play a bit with DS and Genesis (that's why I urge to get S4 for it) and while I already stopped trying to get a similar degree of photorealism out of it, it would be nice to get my favourite hair.
And now the problem: RJH does exist for Genesis, but it's only included in a bundle with other (entirely useless to me) items. This bundle was a Freebie for PC members some time ago, but different to S4 it is still on sale. For quite a bargain price:

And while I really really want this hair, I must confess that $120 (!!!) for virtually nothing but a single item that I already bought in the first place and now only need some upgrade morphs for Genesis is seriously beyond my financial possibilities. Even with 30% and (probably) another 50% in the next few days. Will be some $42 then. OK, I could pay that, but...
My question: is it possible that this price is just a mistake? Reason for my guess is this: In the last 2 months there were two monthly freebies for the PC:

Now is there a chance that this $120 was just a similar "penalty price" back then that simply got stuck? And, the real question, would there be a chance to lift it? At least I hope it will not be thrown into the vaults now and glued to the S4 head instead...

I was curious about that, so I went back and figured out when/where I bought the Genesis Classics. Yeah...I bought that at some absurd percentage off, like 65%, for $41.99 in the middle of March Madness. Both hairs and Roxana were pretty much the only things I ended up using out of it. Not my best purchase ever, but...well, March Madness really overwhelmed me roughly a month after I'd first started using DAZ.
I agree it's a lot of money, in retrospect, but it's still the only way to get that stuff. If they kick it down to the 72% which some stuff has been coming down to, it'd probably be worth it at around $33.60.

I really don't think that this price was set/kept intentionally - you won't find any other bundle priced like that and that high. I'd say that the typical level should be something like $50.
So I'd guess that they either forgot to lower the price, or they wanted to delete the whole bundle after the Freebie period and forgot to take it off the shop.

Gen X is a great tool for Genesis, being able to bring all those shapes and morphs in is really handy.
...yeah, I think I actually DLd the Classics for Genesis bundle back when it was offered to as a freebie to PC members. Have to check the DL archives, dig it up, and load it all. Be interesting to see how the various items work with Jasmin and Amy as on my 32 bit system, I pretty much can only work with the Genesis toon characters (still using Studio 4.0.3.36, not going to mess with 4.5 until they get plugins working).

(*) So why was it somehow stupid to buy it immediately? Because I wanted to buy it with all other "iconic shapes" and that would be close to another $50 which gives a $5 discount.
I was paranoid in the past and thought that maybe DAZ will release a "complete iconic shapes" bundle one day and add S4 as an extra. And thinking back to some things that happened, this idea was probably not that paranoid after all. So I didn't buy the Gen3 and Gen4 shapes yet.
And now... they accidentally removed the discount for the Gen3 bundle (!!!).

Up until last night, it was 50% (the discount started with the Gen5 sale, but now terminated with the Gen4 sale). The 3 individual couples inside are still on sale, so now the bundle is more expensive than the total amount of all contents...
This obviously is a glitch, and I'm sure they will repair it in time. But do I want to risk losing S4 again just because it's been taken off the shop again? No! Never! :-)
I dunno, $9 still seems a bit steep for a single shape, especially since things like the Creature Creator Bundle and the Gen 4 Iconic Shapes Bundle are basically the same price.
Don't get me wrong...of course I immediately bought it anyway! :cheese: No more complicated mixes of S3+V4+V5+Basic Child+Tamesis+Evolutions when a simple S4 will do the job! Thanks for bringing her back out, DAZ!
I'm curious about the Evolutions Expressions. I think I probably don't need them because I have Expressive for Genesis and Real Emotions for DAZ Studio 4, plus I'm getting better at dialing my own expressions. But if these ones are set up as dials they could be useful...the other products I mentioned are more of an on/off thing (would INJ/REM be the appropriate term?).
Regarding the Expressions, yes because they are on dials they are useful. Use them a lot in small amounts to help get right about where I want to be and then I tweak the rest by changing facial poses by hand..
Oh well, had it all ready bought it by mistake. Had the expressions also bought them too. Not going to worry about a refund, they are both updated versions and I get plenty of free stuff every year, let DAZ keep that little bit I say.

Expressions on dials will be real useful. There are two dialable grins that come with Mr. Hyde, but it's not enough. I have found a few in the converted V4 Morphs++, but I don't think it'll hurt having these in my runtime.
Hmm. Where did Evo Expressions originally come out? I clearly own it, but I can't find it in my order history.

@DWG: I wasn't here at the time, but I think I heard that they were released alongside the Evolutions head and body morphs (and were a bonus for those who purchased those morphs)...probably one of the first Genesis items.
That was my impression too. The video I linked to above used to be on the Evolution Morph Bundle page, which is why I thought the expressions were part of the bundle when I bought it.
As far as S4 goes, I may still pick up the Gen4 vsrsion sometime; it has a bunch of bodies & faces, but ths Genesis version only has one.

I think it came out with the evolution morphs. It was part of a package to PC members, I think.
