Here's a little nose ridge for V4 and a hat loosely based on the one the spy wore ;-)

    Ok

    Workflow:

    1. Export from 3dsMax to create obj. Receive obj (but not bacon)

    2. Import via obj into Poser.

    3. Save as Prop.

    4. pp2 file created. all obj information is inserted into pp2 file. Don't want that, so I need to use the obj2pp2 script.

I have the obj2pp2 script (the new location is at: http://jwas3d.com Finding it in the forums could end up being an exercise in frustration.)

Where does this script go in DS3? I stopped using it after throwing a mouse at the monitor and breaking it in frustration.

OBJ2PP2 is not for stripping out the OBJ Data from a PP2. Its for creating a PP2 from a model in DS without ever having to go through Poser.

I have just uploaded the last version of the OBJ2PP2 exporter here - http://www.mediafire.com/?3m5gbz5f8bjjgjm
I recommend it over the older versions cause the older versions will rename your surfaces and thats rather anoying.

The OBJ2PP2 can go in any folder in your Content folder tree. I tossed my copy in the Scripts folder.

Your welcome Shadowhawk. Though I cannot take credit for the textures or modeling for that matter! :)

Thank you for the ships and the new script :-)

The updated Enterprise Refit is available. It will no longer crash DS4 when attempting to render. Several people includging myself tested it in Poser 8 and PP2012 and got mixed results. So poser users may or may not see issues with the mesh. All surface issues should be resolved (meaning it no longer glows like a lightsaber when you load it up)

Went grayscale to try capturing the feel of a promotional snapshot.

Though in retrospect, I wonder if they would have gone to theespense of sculpting Dilithium crystal props. Probably not. More likely, if they knew of props remaing from some other production, they would "borrow" them.

    Sincerely,

    Bill

    Pretty good, Bill!

They look a bit like the crystal entities from P3X-562--So....I wonder if Kirk gets "replaced" in this episode.... ;-)

Now that is a REALLY nice design. I'm going to have to see what I can do to make her fly when she's available.

The Cantell and the Hebitian Class are both available now.

The Cantell is about the size of an Intrepid Class and the Hebitian Class is about the size of the Sovereign class

Hi all. Long time no read! As I'm no longer online, I'll pop in, from time to time, when I get the chance.
For those who are interested, though it's not Trek, Eagle One and the MetaProbe are both released
in Poser and D/S formats. Visit my DeviantArt page if you're interested. ^_-

I'll pop in again the next time I visit my sister.

    Thanks, Matty!

Anyone planning on storing their crew as cuboctahedrons as the Kelvans did in "By Any Other Name"? I ask because after fighting with Hexagon for more hours than I want to admit, I've made one. No texture yet, but I figure I can probably locate or create one. Just an object file at the moment, and no beveling on the edges. But it's mine, all mine! (Yeah, it drove me THAT crazy.)

    Edited to add:

Okay, I applied a simple noise displacement map on it and did a hasty render.

The displacement node really "sells" it, Thalek.

To get the sharply defined facets without beveling, just access the block's "proprties" and reduce the "crease angle" to something around, oh, 32 degrees. I'd also scale down the overall size just a tad. Remember, Rojan could grip the the underside of the block in one hand.

    Sincerely,

    Bill

Thanks, Bill. I'll try to get something a bit better.

I can also get the sharp facets by going into the prop's properties and clicking on the checkbox. I was actually thinking more along the lines that the original probably didn't have very sharp edges.

Hmm. You're right about the scale. I'd tossed in a figure for comparison; I should probably import the object somewhat smaller before turning it into a prop.

Note, however, that if the edge isn't being smoothed any displacement will pull it apart.

For those that might need a dress uniform in the NG era, this might work as a base:

It shoiuld have taken you to a whole selection of Space Defender outfits. Try this one. It's for V4, but there's one for M4, too:

Thanks for the advisory, Richard. I wasn't aware of that.

Here's a version of the Efrosian Federation President's hair and beard I did for our own MD Bruffy. I just did an M3 version, but I could do an M4 or even V3 and V4 version if it strikes anyone's fancy.

Oh, also, some dude on DA asked me if I knew where he (or maybe she, I dunno...) could find models of the ships from the Star Trek Online game.... Are there some of those out there?
