One problem that is going to keep coming up for a while, until they get the glitch fixed, is tha t Images are not autoresizing, so please can you only post images that are a mzximum of 800 pixels in width, so that they don't break the forum formatting.

Dollygirl please can you resize your image and repost it. Pretty please. Thankyou.

@cho You got it dearie. I changed it to 800. So what are the recommended pixel limits? Was there a place I was suppose to read about the size limits? I must say I have not been on the forums much since the change over. My bad!

Here is my first entry on the new forum.

While this isn't quite up to Dad's level, this is my biggest, most detailed project to date. It is even bigger than my March 2010 entry. There are 11 Genesis figures in this scene, 75 painstakingly positioned fence segments, 63 3D Sign letters, and much more. The totals listed by DS4 are 1406 Nodes, 15 lights, and almost 5,000,000 faces.

There are no "paid for" items in this scene.

There are 64 visible custom made items of my own in this scene, all part of the marquee. This item will likely be donated to a future freebie challenge as an entry gift. As there are several pieces of this turned off I will describe it. The item is made up of the main piece, with several material zone on the outside. This allows for separate materials for the area below, in front, back, and above the text boxes on each side. For instance, the area below can be a concrete material, and above can be cut stone. I have modeled 4 sizes of 3D letters (A-Z 0-9 and . ) with "tabs" or "pins" for placing in the text box, as well as 3D letters with "metal" supports for placing on the top (as shown in the one I posted in the old thread). Dad is creating "neon" letters for me to put on top, however those were not ready for use in this scene. Also, the text box has a glass front, lit side panels (seen in this render), and the back panel of the recessed text boxes can be textured to look like a modern "LED" sign.

As this is a night-time scene, many items may be difficult to see. I have the items I wish to be counted toward the minimum freebie count listed in RED. The rest are there for reference in case someone wants to use them. Since the new forum software is currently limited to 800x800, I have scaled the image to 800x600 and have posted the full size 1024x768 to my gallery at Full SIze Render To see all of the detail you will need to zoom in on the full sized version. There is quite a lot of detail missing in the scrunched up version.

    Hi Lonnie,

Beautiful work on the Naboo render. I really like the POV and the splash of color from the flowers.

Have queried the price of the Dystopia City Blocks, but not sure when I will get an answer, as it is a bit hectic at Daz Towers at the moment.

There are a few other former freebies that now have a price on them.
    Dystopia Kruger Mk. 15
Future Law Textures for the V4 future Cop outfit
    Dystopian Console Station
    are a couple I've noticed.

You know, I seem to remember the Dystopia city blocks that were free said until 2012. At the time I first got them, I thought, "That's a long time to be free!" Now, it's already 5 months into 2012! :bug:

Makes me wonder, though, if there actually was some kind of plan...it seems too much a coincidence.

    Hello, I'm a new member.

Didn't Mr Music2u4u have a thread about the June Freebie Challenge that looked like it was going to be a general discussion about freebie challenges -- or did I dream that?

I'm asking because if indeed there was such a thread, I want to know if he was promising there would be clickable images in June, and avatars, and maybe when you click on a link it would open a new page, and stuff ??

And maybe the forums won't be upside down. And pull your shoulders back when you walk. And stop tracking mud across my nice clean kitchen floor.

Ok I've been patient, I've been vigilant, I've been extremely reasonable, I finally have my opinion *like anyone cares lol * I don't like the new daz, I can't find anything anymore, its not easier its frusterating and almost painful *because of the headache it causes* I don't know who's idea it was to mess with perfection but they should be shot, I've spent alot of money here at daz because it was easy to maneuver, easy to find what you wanted and my itemized order history was easy to see where everything was, but I don't think I'll be doing that alot in the future mainly for the fact *I can't find a damn thing* the itemized order history is carved in stone now, fast grab is gone or hidden, the weekly freebie can't be found, everything looks generic. the "make-over" was a bad idea. if you wanted to clean everything up that was another thing, now daz is all but ruined for me, keep in mind...I do not mind change at all, change is good if it improves whatever it is that needed fixed, but now...wow, we've been micro-managed to death, and I'm scared what this redesign will do, which is "be the death of daz" because of the frustration its causing to the older, established, long term members like me. Also keep in mind this is my opinion and reflects in no way the opinion of others that I know of. I am so very disapointed, the change if it was nessessary should have happened gradually, not warned about then have a square ped slammed and hammered into a round hole thank you.

    Hi MW!

I know it's pretty frustrating... I feel it too... and I personally don't care for the new layout either. I am pretty sure though the DAZ folks are doin' what they can to make this place more "homey". It's kinda like moving to a new neighborhood and a new house. Nothing is where it should be and it takes twice or three times longer to do the things that you didn't even have to think about before. :bug: Even worse, you can never remember which box you packed everything away into.

Moving is never easy but I'm hoping in the long run the little things will get ironed out... kinda like getting all the dishes put away and the landscape finished and evicting all the spiders (or in my case all the crickets! ;) ) Eventually, this place will be home once we can put up our family pics and nicknacks... we just have to be patient while the "landlord" finishes up all the stuff we asked them to do before we moved in! :cheese:

I don't want to rain in anyone's parade, but until we can't quote pictures in this forum I think, that challenges didn't make real senses. How can I comment on a picture that I saw 3 pages ago and anyone will know, what I mean (which is indeed not so easy sometimes, but that is a different story)?

All you do is right click the picture, save it to your pooter, then when you write your post, attatch the image at the bottom. Simple...for now...lol.

Well, it's not my server, which will be stuffed with hundreds of the same pictures. And it's too much work for me. I must save the pic, load it up again and delete it again from my computer. All in all a very uncomfortable situation. It's nice, when people always try to find a kind of solution, but please take off the pink glasses. I remember that the Admins promise us a better borad, now we have a bugful, crappy board. Maybe it could point to test how the deleting of posts work.

    ... NOTICE! ...

Starting next month, I will be introducing something new in the challenge. Since the contest is all about freebies, I am going to have an "Appreciation" part of the contest. Each month, I will feature a Daz member who gives freebies a lot. I will announce the chosen ones at the start of each month's challenge. Each entry will be required to use one freebie from the featured Daz member who gives in order to qualify for the month.

We all use these freebies and I feel it is only proper to thank the givers for them. Each featured member will be given all the prizes donated for the month they are featured. I will pm them with links to them. It is the least we can do for those who give so much of themselves so we can have freely. They ask nothing in return.

For the month of July, I will be featuring Adam Thwaites from Most-digital-creations.com. Adam gives a new freebie almost everyday and has for many years. His generosity goes way beyond kind. For the month of August, I will be featuring Hobobo and all his cyclorama, IC3, and materials he makes. A new one everyday. He also gives and gives.

Next month, June, will be a very special feature for us. I chose this person because they just give of themself until it hurts. I have never met anyone here who gives so much. So next month, I will be featuring our very own Chohole! I used to call her "The Texture Queen", but now I just call her "The Queen". Now...don't buck me on this Cho! This is something I feel needs to be done for you. You have given sooo much to this community, I feel this is the least we can do for you. It is well deserved dear. You earned it.

OK, so beginning next month, you must include one freebie from Chohole in your entry to qualify for the June challenge. You will find a link to her stuff in her signature. ( http://chohole.ovbi.org/ ). Get creative!

    that's all...carry on.

    :-)
