Anyone with problems to run Carrara 8.5 64 bits in Windows 8 Pro? It install without problem but I got to error messages when open Carrara:

CR2Importer.mcx failed to load!

Carrara open fine after hit OK button, but when I try to add a Runtime folder I got this new message:

A nil pointer error has occurred.
File: BrowserDialogFamily.cpp
Line: 58

So I cant add none ordinary Runtime even SmartContent

Carrara 8.1 32bis working fine here...

It's the weekend so things will be a bit slow. I'm sure you'll get the help you need though!

    I would help myself, but,

    A) I don't have C8.5 yet, and
    B) I'm on a Mac.

At least the topic is bumped!

    Good luck!

I have 8.5 Pro and Windows 8 Pro.

It's not clear in the original post if this happens upon launching Carrara or if the error arises when you do something specific.

If you give a step-by-step method of reproduction, I'll test it here.

EDIT: Whoops, I just noticed that the OP was in 2012. It's obviously not related to Windows 8 Pro...

To be honest I doubt if the query is still live or pertinent, as the OP has posted several quite a few times in other places, since he made that post, but has not revisited this particular thread.

I think the post that bumped the thread was either an unfortunate one or it was bumped for some other reason.

Aak! Maybe the second post was spam?

I didn't even look at the date of GK's post.

Time to fill the zombie thread with kitties or zombie kitties!

Or a failed spam attempt, thawted by the software.

Not sure I have too many zombie lolcats in my collection
