I need to make a siloutte from various characters - best option? Plugin? I would like it 100% black or close.

    Subject-

    Defuse 0,0,0 (or Desired Color)
    Spectacular 0,0,0
    Ambient 0,0,0 (Match Desired Color)
    Opacity 100%

    Back Drop-

    Defuse 255,255,255 (or Desired Color)
    Spectacular 0,0,0
    Ambient 255,255,255 (Match Desired Color)
    Opacity 100%

All other Node should be turned off set to 0 or colored 0,0,0

I Don't know if its perfect, but setting the desired color to: 0,255,0 works for well Chroma Key. The Key is to eliminate reflections/glossiness, and to make the colors absolute.

For people getting around the software - where are these located in D/S 4?

Same as in DS3, on the Surfaces tab

I find it easier to just create a distant light, and then turn it off (click on the eye icon to the left of the light in the scene tab). Make your background color white or whatever color you wish, and render. You can save as png if you want the alpha channel.
