OMG, I need that ice cream shop! I've been looking for one. And the area around it is perfect. The rest of the set looks fantastic too.

    ..."Pre Wishlisted".

Love the stylised Geisha painting on the side of the building undergoing renovation (hmmmm, my namesake's graffiti...heh) .

The "Big City" has just become bigger.

Will this include individual building props like in US2?

Very Nice!!!! Kinda reminds me of my home town San Francisco at the Embarcadero off Market. Now where can I find a copy of the Ferry Bldg.

Amen!! Beautiful work Stefan. In fact, I like your rendition of MoMA better than the real thing. :coolsmirk:

yes, each building is a seperate prop(it currently has around 50 buildings)..& a few of them have opening doors and basic interiors too

I add this here because it does not make much sense to open up a new thread about it:

Stonemason products are some of my top favorites when it comes to scene building.

They were especially my favorite when I was using DS only.

I noticed over the last year that there seems to be a trend from shifting to support a vast amount of different software to only make available versions optimized for DS.

On the one hand it is VERY impressive how Stonemason products use DS shaders and come up with creative discplacement solutions or even snow shaders etc.

On the other hand this huge advantage when using models in DS makes them almost impossible to use outside of DS without a lot of addtional work.

    Examples:
I like to export models to e-on vue.
When I do render in DS I now use Octane Render plugin for DS

    - - -

Is there any chance that in the future there could be different versions of the products be released?

    - One version with DS shaders
    - One version with displacement maps
    - One version with normal maps

GPU renders like octane do currently not read displacement maps)

Of course I can use the Nvidia tool to transform displacement to normal maps but if the PA would do that allready it would save time.

I am aware that for PA it must become more and more difficult to produce content for a split up user base. Some may use DS, some Poser, some Lux Render, some Octane Render and some export to e-on vue, cinema 4d or 3DS max.

    - - -

In any way thank you for all your work and those very impressive scenes!

hi,I always work with Poser and DAZ studio in mind, the only exception are the two winter scenes(winter ruins and winter terrains)..both of which were created as an extension of making shaders in shader mixer.
so each or my sets comes in both a Poser version and a DAZ Studio version,(for Vue users I'd recommend using Poser to export to Vue)

Sprawl3 will also feature some advanced shader effects that wont carry through to other software, mainly the road & terrain shaders, which, in an effort to avoid obvious tiling have been created using blender nodes, but it should look good with just the road or terrain tiles if your exporting to Vue.
displacement is used sparringly in this one,in a set this large I need to pick and choose very carefully which shader fx to use on different surfaces in an effort to keep render times acceptable, I feel window reflections are more important than displacements,so the majority of the set is bump mapped with grayscale images,I also avoid normal mapping in DS as I've been told it's not 100% working as one would expect.
I might try and pick Octane up soon and test Sprawl3 in it,I know they use Sprawl2 quite a bit in the promos of Octane and it looks pretty cool

    thanks
    Stefan

the Geisha graffiti is a single decal prop too,so it's easily removed if people don't want it,

...it stays for me as I see it as KK's tag that this is her turf and oppos beware. She spent many years in Kyoto where she learned more than just the combat arts.

    I like it.
