My V4 characters to Genesis?

I have several characters that I have made and saved with V4 using and mixing different character sets that I have purchased. Is there any way to transfer these saved characters to Genesis?

Thanks

Yes, with the Generation X plugin from the store here, it can use V4 characters with Genesis.

That is the only way that I know of.

Yes. I do this all the time. Your Textures you can apply directly. Genesis supports multiple UVS including Victoria 4 and Michael 4. V4 appears to be the default UV set when you first call up Genesis.

For the morphs, you will need Generation X http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-generation-x and V4/M4 shapes for Genesis: http://www.daz3d.com/v4-and-m4-shapes-for-genesis

You can transfer your characters as a single morph (that's what I do) or you can transfer all of the V4 morphs you have, and dial in the settings manually. In your case, since you like to mix and match characters, you might want to transfer all of the V4 or M4 morphs...

There are also free morphs out there... lots of them!

I have the GenX and the V4/M4 shapes. How do I transfer my characters as a single morph? I tried doing this with GenX the same way that I would a new character set ( drag and drop), but that didn't work.

Okay, open the Generation X tab

Look for the Load Figure Button

If your figure is saved to Cr2, you can simply load that, because all the morphs will be applied already.

If your figure is an injection pose, you need to load the Victoria 4 or Michael 4 figure first, then load all the morphs, then load the preset. Then do the transfer

Okay, I will give that a try that this afternoon when I get home. If it is an injection pose (most likely is), I sould load the base V4, then all of the V4 morps, then the character that I have made, then transfer?

    that is correct.

Oh, one more thing: when you have everthing loaded, you have to right click in the window with all the morphs listed and transfer on for non-zero morphs.

But, as I indicated, you seem to like to mix and match, so it might be wise for you to simply transfer all of the morphs so you can simply dial everything in.

I found this tutorial extremely helpful: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2851334. It cleared up a lot of questions for me.

GenX works in DS 4.5. That may have been written before the plugin had been updated.

I think it was late last year. GenX works fine with Studio 4.5 now. I've been following that tutorial for months with no problems.

If you don't have the V4 iconic shape then your V4 based characters won't look exactly the same once transfered, as GenX assumes the V4 shape will be applied to Genesis as the base of the morphs (though you can get some interesting results mixing with Basic female, V5 etc).
