Need some better Mill Big Cat stuff ...

I need to create a big black fantasy cat, but amazingly, there have been few updates or expansions to the Mill Big cat like there have been for the Mill Horse.

Can anybody direct me to something that will compliment the more modern quality of m4 and v4? Something with muscle morphs, or something that works in Daz?

The real hair for Mill Big Cat looks great, but that means I have to use Carrara Pro. Which I don't have, and haven't the foggiest idea of how to use if I did, nor do I have an inkling where I am going to come up with that kind of 'accessible' and 'affordable' funds.

Please tell me someone has given this poor cat some more morphs and textures that work nicely in Daz, or lead me to a better 'big cat' model.

Thanks, guys.

I think I may have found something that could work, but don't know where to get the related 'required products': http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/sabertooth-reloaded-by-am/83221#

Big Mil cat is one of those sets that I think is in need of a complete from scratch remake-over.

I completely agree, but I have the ill feeling that it would be a DS4 only item. I don't like DS4.

The Mil Big Cat has black Jaguar and Leopard maps (although, imo, I think a black Panther is needed) and they say they've been updated. As to how recently I couldn't say. Also, there are morphs, but the link to the list is broken since the site changeover.

The LE version of the cat does not have all of the options that the full version does.

Yeah, I noticed if the other breeds re wanted, the full set needs bought.

Have you ever worked with SaberTooth? http://www.contentparadise.com/productDetails.aspx?id=15895 & http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/sabertooth-reloaded-by-am/83221#

No, sorry, I haven't. I don't purchase things from CP (not partial to their download expiration method). Mainly just here, rendo, and rdna, and I don't have a lot of realistic animals.

I did happen to find the Daz Panthers (by way of link hopping from the Safari Bundle). They're cheaper than the Sabertooth route if you don't need the teeth.

Well, I'm not even sure I need the CP version. the Reloaded version is at rendo: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/sabertooth-reloaded-by-am/83221#

Thanks for the panther link :D

According to the ReadMe file for the Sabertooth Reloaded, "Needed files: none". Based on that I'm assuming it's a standalone figure with 2 versions, 3d fur and non-3d fur.

SaberTooth requires 2 g of free memory ... is a rather heavy item for some systems.

If you want to try a cat by AM, there's his Tiger here:

    http://www.daz3d.com/shop/tigers-by-am/

You'd have to make your own textures to do this but it would be a 'rare cat' ...
More exotic than the black panther, the 'black tiger'. Black stripes on a black cat ... they should show as the light dances over their pelt. Saw an old photo once of a painting of one that was killed 'years' ago. Very rare cat. If you do a Google image search you'll find some other cat colour variances for them these days but careful with some of them which are referred to as a 'black tiger' ... first, not all are tigers, second, some are just 'negative bk/wh' images.

I saw this, but for some odd reason I thought it was brushes or PNGs or something ... lol. This is the same vendor as the SaberTooth. I may need to get both :D

I agree with Rawn that it needs a complete make over but when the hair plug in is released that would possibly help improve things also.

But as I mentioned, they'll probably make it for DS4 ... lol ... which will do me no good.

The only things that has been DS4 only so far are Genesis-specific content. So unless a new Millennium Cat was based on Genesis, I don't feel that this is a fair assumption.

Lyne has free morphs and texture maps for the Mil Big Cat. I'm quite fond of them, really... such sweeties, like serval and caracal and lynx. :)

Hoo! Looks like you're absolutely right! Must have misread, and of course since I have both, never noticed it! :) I stand corrected!

    Lovely beasties, tho.

I wanted to do a Make-over render in a garage/workshop of the Mill Big cat with a guy spray-paiting from Tiger to Panther as a gag, but I was busy rendering a Cowboy-scene. Maybe later. :smirk:

Sorry, I didn't realise you used a different program...: (

The cat definitely needs a makeover.

I'm sooo glad I read this thread, 'cos I wasn't aware of these wonderful free cat morphs/textures. Thank you so much Skiriki for pointing these out to us....just tried them out and they are wonderful! :) I would like to add my support to a Mil Cat/Big Cat update by Daz3d. We need some more realistic animals!!! Come on Daz, you can do it!

Er, actually I think that Lyne's morphs are for the Mil Cat, not the Mil Big Cat. The Mil cat loads at about three times the size of a domestic cat, so the morphs for larger breeds (up to cougar, I think) work quite well.

The Mil Big Cat (full version) isn't half bad, really, although those blocky paws could use some help. I'm looking forward to seeing what AM's hair plug in could do for it.

From time to time I used to run into rather nice pose packs for the DAZ animals over on Rendo. Not sure whether any but the ones for the horses are still there, or if they've gone clearance=disappearance already.
