Genesis WIsh List

This was originally another another thread but I decided to turn it into something else instead.

I want to get peoples thoughts on that they would like to see for genesis. Me apart from a mertail I would really like to see some more male or at least unisex clothing.

Also more poses of all sorts.

I’d like a big muscular shape as detailed as Mr Hyde but with real world proportions.
Then, I’d like some male clothes, but something with soul and imagination. Not regular, modern day stuff. Something unusually detailed, I don’t know.

Stuff from the 1920's and 1930's, or early 60's. Those are my favorite eras aesthetically.

since genesis uses V4 clothes rather well the one thing "I" need is more female heels. I have nearly everything DX30 has done and got a note from idler168 that he is going to do some for genesis also.

I would love some well done, realistic expressions, that is one thing I struggle with.

Even though I get good results with V4 poses, would love some more genesis specific ones. My fav ones are the Virago and Inspire ones from Shimuzu which are nicely done, hope to see lots more female ones from this vendor.

I can always use more female clubwear, but only if it is quality mesh and doesn't rely on transmaps and has seams and detail.

I rarely use male figures, but would buy a good male set if it is something a female would wear also since i use Smays outfits on both genders.

A better autofit solution for long skirts. Or an alternate rigging for autofit for long skirts. If they don't break the mesh at the bottom, they throw a nasty attack of texture stretching right in center front. Not so much in center back. Somehow they seem to do a better job with the back of the skirt. But the front is broken, and you can't always scale and parent your way around it.

Genesis refits for more of the PC outfits. Partticularly the ones that have long or longish skirts. And lots of texture add-ons.

My only (and it is the only) complaint with Oskarson's clothes in my experience is that they're one unit. Which is a pain if you don't want to use the whole thing. That and Will Dupre's Real World Heroes comes a lot closer to what I've seen officers wearing in the Chicago 'burbs (I live about four blocks from the police department.)

So, yeah, I'll second more real world uniforms.

I'd also like to see some of the less visited world cultures. Thailand, for example. Or the Native Americans of the south-east, as opposed to great plains. Pueblo tribe clothing would be cool too. The beads braids and buckskins, while the most iconic, aren't nearly as universal... though Genesis could use those as well.

More historical periods would be great, but it can be a bit tricky finding what people want, and that can shift depending on current projects (when the 50's stuff came along, I could have used the 30's stuff re-fitted to Genesis a bit more.) Though, for me, anything that feels like it wouldn't be out of place in an Agatha Christie adaption is probably good. ;)

As for Guy stuff... whatever it is, I don't want to feel like we're getting something slapped together "to make the guy-stuff crowd happy" I'll put up with a 5:1 (or worse) ratio of girl stuff to guy stuff so long as 1) the Guy stuff is as well made as the girl stuff and 2) there's enough variety of it that I can send my guys to the same events as the girls without the guys looking over dressed, under dressed, or otherwise inappropriate for the setting.

After years of whining about the lack of contemporary clothing, I do find it kinda weird that I wouldn't mind seeing more classic fantasy clothing for Genesis. I'm not going to say I have all the modern day stuff I can use, but I could do with a bit more high fantasy too. Especially anything that converting from Gen-4 would be problematic (see: anything with a skirt)

From what i understand, there IS a fix for that:

I haven't looked into it myself either, but when I was having problems with Nagase Hiro 4, this is what was suggested for me.

Apparently, an autofit fix for Gen < long/drape apparel will never happen because Genesis and everything before differ in feet bones. That's why with the Clothing Rig Kit, it allows one to modify the rigging to help better accommodate Genesis as needed.

I would like to have more historical clothes, like...

... 'Marie Louise' for Genesis (autofit doesn't work good on the V4 version), with a male counterpart and some accessoires typical for 18th century, including hair/wigs

... a more elaborate pirate set, like the M4/V4 series

... authentic Roman clothes (Toga, matching Tunica, sandals, Stola, women's Tunica, Palla etc) + short male hair. I can't find short hair of the Roman style!

... authentic Mayan outfits (m+f, including hair). There are a few 'Mayan' outfits on the market, but... well, ok. Regarding the richness of detail in classical (aristocratic) Mayan outfits, this would not be a very easy, but surely fascinating task for a good artist. One who could withstand the usual temptation to mix up Mayan and Aztec, Mayan and Chimú, etc...

    1. Realistic intimate wear, both modern and retro (for the classic pinup pix!)
    2. Oshikai's Retro Skirt (hint, hint ;) )
    3. Second skin underwear that can be used with any texture, without having to do it in Photoshop - is it possible to create a masked second layer in a material that includes its own bumps/specular/trans, etc. ? Would be a great solution for any form-fitting clothes that don't also cover every square inch of the figure.
    4. '50s sci-fi outfits - all broad shoulders and silvery spandex, with lots of ribs and other puffy parts, and big bubble helmets
    5. Any kind of clothing with more morphs for movement on the body - open, close, lift, drop, etc. With matching figure and hand poses.

The sneak-in promos and pulled ReadMe's pretty much says we're getting Freak 5 next.

As for Girl 5, I actually tried to contact Kim Goossenz asking about it. Of course as I should have expected, he never replied back. However, this may very well hint that something is in the works and he just can't say anything.

That or he's just like MallenLane and just doesn't respond like the cool kid that he is...

Like your suggestions. I'd love to see more exact fittings of long hair that's transferred to Genesis. Currently long hair ends up with some nasty buckles around where the shoulders are and well some of them are OK after a smoothing modifier and SubD are applied but some not so much. Plus after SubD and Smoothing it's really system intense to even pose the character so it's really not the most elegant solution in my opinion.

For someone to figure out an easier way, either a script or something, that makes it possible to transfer Gen 4 shoes, heeled or flat, over to Genesis.

Capes and belled sleeves also for transfers that keep previous ghost bones for movement options. I tried transferring a cape as part of an ensemble from the V3 wardrobe. It looks great except for .... none of the movement morphs work, just sits there. Meh.....

I'll echo the others who have said uniforms. Especially the NON-sexy uniforms. There have been enough sexy this, or sexy that, a few accurate, what people actually wear, uniforms would be awfully nice. Also, more fantasy adventurer type clothes with low heels, or at least the option for them. There have been several that I would have otherwise bought, but a bare midriff while fighting an ogre, well, okay, I can let that go, but fighting an ogre in 4 inch stiletto heeled boots? Er, nope. This isn't a criticism of any particular vendor, that's just not my thing. :-)

Ah, so you want more of a Frazetta feel rather than the loose George Petty influence The Girl has historically had. And yes, I remember the MAXX :-) Both the comic and the animated version on MTV's Oddities were great. Sam Keith left pencilling The Sandman to do that kind of stuff, and I for one am glad he did. It looks like he had a lot of fun riffing on Frazetta with a more cartoon-y style. Actually, I think he may have been more specifically influenced by some of Frazetta's looser water color stuff, which was amazing.

I was so happy when the full series became available, less happy that it was an Amazon burn on demand release, but it sure beat the severely edited VHS "movie".

But I digress. Yes, a shape like that would be really cool, but I doubt you'll see it in The Girl. They should definitely make something like that though, and while they're at it, they should get Jim Burton out of retirement or whatever to make one of his shapes for Genesis, he always managed a nice version of that late 50s early 60s paperback cover feel.

I like the suggestions, especially the ones about the AutoFit Tool. The idea with the Baldness for men is also great ... I think we have not enough REAL Male Hair Cuts. Not the styled ones for teens. Everyday hair for mens, that you can always spot on every street.

I wouls also like to to see some Genesis-Updates for some clothes, especially for the "Wonderland Queen of Hearts V4"-Outfit, or "Marie Louise 18th Century Gown", which have always problems with Genesis.

And ... I know I have requested that a few times ... I would like to have a cute Genesis Teddybear. :)

I agree with fixing autofit to work better with long hair and long skirts and such... and I agree there's enough sexy stuff...but I think there's enough "regular" stuff too...

What I would like to see are interesting clothing designs that give an impression of a specific "personality". For example: There was once this guy called Frederik who made stuff for aiko3. His stuff was always free and always gave a very specific "look". He was awesome.

That could be really useful, especially if it was set up like the Unshaven Beard (http://www.daz3d.com/unshaven-beard-for-genesis), so you could dial in just how much coverage the figure had in different areas.
