    Playing around with the Supersuit (although the helmet's from Zikeo's Armour Y). From left-to-right that's War Machine, Rescue, and Iron Man. (Yeah, I know those aren't Rescue's colors, but I'll bet if Pepper gets armor in IronMan3 it's gonna be in a distinctly different color scheme from Tony's.)

    I have a Supersuit question:
    Is it possible to save Shaping settings for specific body parts in such a way that they can be used with other Supersuit Shapes?

    For example, say I wanted to save a Helmet Shape from a certain preset. Is it possible to save it and then apply it to the Supersuit without affecting the rest of the Supersuit Shape?

    Did you ever figure out how to save the supersuit shape?

    Necro-thread! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH! :ahhh:

    Used the Supersuit with a couple of the shader presets to work up elements from disparate sets into a coherent (I hope!) super-hero costume: the collar-piece from Scarlet fG and boots, pants, belt, & cuffs from Dark Moods for Genesis'n'Night Moves. Character is Xiao Wen V5 wearing Pure Hair Wild.

    DS4.5Pro render, postwork in GIMP. Larger version in my deviantART gallery here.

    These videos are "first draft" quality from an early version of the suit. I am currently redoing them to bring them up to date.

    It struck me, however, that you might benefit more from seeing them than not so here you go. Keep in mind that the basic prionciples are solid, but some of the details are off.

    To help you figure out the suit here are 9 videos that will get you started.

    I just purchased the supersuit which is amazing and found this thread with these videos. Just curious if there were more videos coming as the 9th one says its part one of creating a character.....

    Sadly no. Those videos have been around since before the Supersuit was released. No one, that I know of, has bothered to make new ones.

    Which begs the question: where did DAZ_Rand go? I heard he got a new screenname, but he doesn't seem to be around under any alias. :gulp:

    Good God, does anyone actually still work at DAZ or have they all been fired and replaced with...uhm...wait, just who exactly have they been replaced with?

    We want answers DAZ! It's our company (sort off) too and we liked Randall. Well I liked him. In fact you've managed to fire everyone I like! Bad DAZ. :(

    Well, I wonder if they'll all move into a garage and create the next generation of figures that will take the world by storm and eventually buy out DAZ and SM and Autodesk and then finally create the long awaited 'Make Art' button.

    It’s quite simply.

    Assuming you want to use a shape all ready defined, like say the helmet on Heavy Gear. Go to where the Heavy Gear definition file is and open it in a text editor like WordPad, etc. Page down in the file to the following line;

    case sSkeleton:
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "PBMThighsF", [ 0.5 ] );
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "PBMThighsE", [ -1 ] );
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "PBMThighsD", [ 1 ] );
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "PBMThighsC", [ -1 ] );
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "PBMThighsB", [ 0 ] );

    Remove all the lines that do not have anything to do with the head. You should end up with the following;

    case sSkeleton:
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "PBMMouthD", [ -1 ] );
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "PBMMouthC", [ 0 ] );
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "PBMMouthB", [ 0 ] );
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "PBMHeadF", [ -1 ] );
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "PBMHeadE", [ 0.0722027 ] );
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "PBMHeadD", [ 0 ] );
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "PBMHeadC", [ 0 ] );
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "PBMHeadB", [ 0 ] );
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "PBMEyesD", [ 0 ] );
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "PBMEyesC", [ -1 ] );
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "PBMEyesB", [ -1 ] );
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "CTRLMouthE", [ -1 ] );
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "CTRLMouthA", [ 1 ] );
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "CTRLMouth", [ 0 ] );
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "CTRLHeadA", [ -1 ] );
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "CTRLHead", [ -1 ] );
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "CTRLEyesA", [ 1.66065 ] );
    g_oPresetHelper.setMorphProperty( "CTRLEyes", [ -1 ] );
    break;

    Don’t forget to save this file with different file name.

    This is awesome! :)

    Thanks!

    In this one I used MachPack (the white Flannel shader), DzFire's Real Metals (the Bright Gold Ratraced shader), and Gemologica (the Amazonite02 shader) to coordinate the Genesis Supersuit, the Ailell boots, and one of the Swords Fantastic with various bits of Our Lady of the Dragons. DS4.5Pro render, postwork in GIMP. Larger version in my deviantART gallery here.

    That video showing how to reassign materials zones is all very well, but you still can't give away your textures as the orignal suit won't have those material zones.

    Well that's up to Daz to fix. I for one am grateful that someone bothered to show us a work around.

    Yes but the problem is still that Daz haven't sorted it out, so we still can't make textures to give away.

    And the weird thing is, why won't they? It's ridiculously shoddy workmanship on one of their major products, it makes them look bad every time somebody mentions it, and it's a simple fix -- why won't they just get it done? It's baffling.
