Mac - Studio 4.5.... Gen X stoped working

Gen X started disappearing UNDER Studio a while ago and I had to do all kinds of weird things to use it. Now it has stopped working all together. It says V4 is not a supported figure. Any help?

    OS version...machine specs...recent updates...DS version...

    OS is Lion which I´m not going to upgrade because I´m using things to make music which doesn´t like Mountain Lion apparently. Lion updated itself on Sunday and didn´t tell me which updates it did. Gen X have been this since a bit after I got the first studio 4.5xxxx maybe three months ago. I havn´t used the Mac with Studio for a while.
