Last week I just got a new computer (Intel core i7,32 GB of Ram, 64-bit Windows 7 Professional) I'm going to install Hexagon 2 on into my new computer.

I would like some insight on how stable Hex 2.5.1.27 is before I install it.

Most of my super important Hexagon files are in 2.5.0.5 format.

Thanks,

Try to get a hold on 2.1 if you can.

Version 2.1 of Hexagon. Less bugs in it.

2.1 was a crashy buggy disaster barely more stable than 2.0

As I recall correctly you can't go backwards from Hex 2.5 to Hex 2.1 or to an earlier version.

    I use 5.5.0.3
It has it's bugs. but over the years i've learned to work around them. I've had Zbrush now for a year but I still return to Hex for many items.
    I still like Hex.

We've all long suspected that daz gave up on version 3, but they gave up on 4, too??

Not for me. Been really stable. Maybe had one or two crashes a year, and I work with it on a daily basis and still do.

I agree, I've reverted back to the patched 2.1 myself.

Yes I think daz should issue S/N for 2.1 ever since I bought 2.5 I crash a lot and now since the update I cant follow Tez's modelling the human head as hex just crashes too much it gets frustrating. atleast it would allow you to find a version that works a little better. though I guess 2.1 is probably not available on the store anymore.

I use 2.5.1.79 (latest official production release) for long time now on both XP and win7 and almost never crash or find a bug....but do lose stuff from user error or going to fast for Hex to keep up.....so don't work faster than Hex can process; especially true for large files.

.hxn files seem to work in all versions, but I must admit I don't remember using a newer version created file in an old version of Hex.

I use Hex 2.5.1.79 on daily basis, for hours at a time on some pretty complex jobs with no more problem than any other 3d app. It is a must if you want to use the Studio bridge.
