Japanese School building?

For many, these schools are what you picture when you think of a highschool. The layouts are almost always identical, and they have a certain romance to them. Unfortunately, I am unable to find one! There is a surprisingly nice scale prop for free on sharecg, but the does not have the internal details. I'd be willing to pay for one, but a hidden free gem is always nice too :)

Anyone know of one? A single classroom will work, so will a hallway.

Maclean's Interiors The Classroom works very well as a Japanese classroom. I'm still struggling with hallways-- I've been building my own with Maclean's Interiors Corridors.

Some of the Parkside High sets may also help.

For external shots, I picked up a Shade collection of Japanese buildings, but exporting them to use in DS has been a real chore. What's the Sharecg model you found?

http://www.sharecg.com/v/40352/related/11/Poser/School-building, It comes with a lawn and a backdrop. It's already scaled, as well! (It is a prop, not a figure. Took me a few to figure that out)

Interesting aside, I see a comma in my word "comes" so that it shows "co,mes", but when I edit it the comma is not there.

I can't see anything causing that comma, either.

You might also want to look at Rendo. A vendor there called "greenpots" makes a number of school sets that might work for you.

Here are a couple of images of Maclean's sets I rendered for a video game I was working on. I used pwToon to render these-- the default render is a realistic style, if that's what you're after.

I was going to recommend Greenpots too. His School series is very much what I think of for high school, and I went to a rather large one here in the midwestern US.

Now, the only caution is that his stuff is designed for Poser, so if you're a DS user, be prepared to do some fiddling.

I own some of greenpot's stuff (his country house), and used to be a Poser user. I'm used to the fiddling at this point :D

There's a free school building and some classroom and yard props here at 3dMoeCafe... http://3dmoecafe.3dchaya.com/download_mdl/index.htm

Even a complete classroom scene prop... not sure how usefull it is... but they are all available in obj format...

I thought that link sounded familiar... people interested in Japanese props will also want to check out the main 3Dchaya site:

    http://www.3dchaya.com

They have a lot of traditional and antique props in obj and other formats. Generally you'll need to texture them manually after importing to DS (or Poser), but there are lots of texture resources around that can be used for this. :)

You're quite welcome... :) I found it quite some time back and saved it as a bookmark so that I could go back to it if I decided I needed something...
